I have not had to do much of anything to my 2007 Tundra, but this new issue has me scratching my head.
I have 120K on the truck and I just got CEL, Flashing 4LO and VSC. I cleared and they shortly came back. My research showed me that I probably have a chewed up knock sensor harness under intake. I got a new harness and pulled the intake off expecting to find broken wires. I found none and have tested the harness and I don't see anything wrong with it. I also tested the knock sensors to see if any were shorted, specifically sensor 3. Nothing shows up. I then tested each knock sensor by using DMM on low voltage and tapped the sensors. They all show some 'signal' but I'm not sure if that is a legit test or not. I am willing to change out a knock sensor, or at least swap them around and see if the error follows the sensor. I don't want to just put it back together hoping it's fixed because the intake was a bit of a pain and I don't want to do it more than once!
I did see small evidence of mice under intake, but I don't see any chewed up wires.
Silly me, I thought this should be an easy fix, change harness and I would be good to go. Haa!
Does anyone have any other ideas on this error?
