After over a year of hopes/dreams/wishes/stalling, I am FINALLY in a position to purchase a Cruiser. I sold the truck last weekend, and found a commuter this weekend. Now I've got about $2500 to spend on a wheeler. I'm looking for a FJ60, so I can take the fam with me. Wheel well rust is OK with me, I'm sure I'll be adding some pinstripes. Little mechanical things are OK too, but need something that will enable me to go on one of the next trips.

I'm trying to contact some of the mudders in the classifieds on their rigs, but if you can keep an eye out for a local rig, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

Spence Wilcox has a real nice 62 in winston salem NC for sale. It used to belong to southerncruiser62 (greg) in the olde north state gang. i think he wants 3k, and i saw it on the national site just recently w/ that reduced $. ill keep an eye out as well.

Thanks for the links. I've PMed the owner of the 62, and going to PM the one above. Also, waiting on a response from this Cruiser.

Personally, I'd prefer to have a 60, but won't completely rule out a 62, if the right one comes along. We'll see what comes along...

How's the search? Haven't heard in a while.

I've called on a couple of 60's in my price range but haven't heard back. The 62's are OK, but they just aren't what I want right now. I really want a 60 (I know, there's not much difference, but I want to be able to row my own gears, windows, etc)

The search continues...

Well, the search has come to an end! :bounce: I found a 1981 FJ60 and will be picking it up in the next few weeks. :bounce2: It is a Washington state truck brought to VA about 2 years ago = little rust (rear quarters and drip rail need some grinding and POR'ing) The truck has about 250k and had a new transfer case installed soon after arriving in VA.

Now, unfortunately, the truck is still in VA, near Charlottesville. Is anyone planning a trip up that way in the beginning of April? Anyone wan to do a roadtrip?

Now time for a picture. More will come later. Does anyone know how much the Thule setup is worth?

I'm SUPER STOKED!!!:steer:

CONGRADS CARP! If you didn't know I have this thing about picking up vehicles purchased sight-unseen and then driving them God-forsaken distances home. (heh heh heh) So - that being said I could probably be suckered into a trip if the timing was right.

Very nice Carp. Looks like a good find.

I did know that, and I was thinking about taking a toboggan with me so I could get a pic similar to the one you had when you picked yours up :D I'll keep y'all posted on the timing to get the truck.

So the search continues!! The truck is titled in the ex-wife's name and there is a discussion over who owns the truck, so the truck is not for sale anymore. Good thing I didn't send him a deposit.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. BTW, I am thinking an 80 would be cool too...

Thanks! I'm going to try to get pics from the 80 listed in NC...

Looking at the dark side huh. did that truck I sent you info on awhile back ever sell? Seemed like a lot of truck for $2500.
