Time to buy!

I haven't tried to call them back recently. I'll give it a try today, if I can find the info.

Thanks for the reminder!

Looking at the dark side huh. did that truck I sent you info on awhile back ever sell? Seemed like a lot of truck for $2500.

Emailed the guy yesterday, he kept the truck. Too much truck for the money.

Does anyone know of somebody near Denver CO that you trust to look at a truck for me? I may have found a 60 out there, and may get someone's unbiased opinion on it, assuming it lasts to my spot in line. I don't mind asking someone from one of the local clubs, but thought I'd try the 2 degrees of separation first.

Thanks!

Learn from my mistake and do not buy anything sight unseen. Inspection really needs to be by someone who knows what to look for...honestly- I will not buy anything unless I myself can see it. The right one will pop up- I am looking for another 60 and will send some your way as my timeline is now far off. Check the Iwanna. I thought I saw an 86 in ashville.

Thanks for the advice. I always get impatient, and usually regret it later. Hopefully, I can bide my time...

As for the 86 in the Iwanna, it's already sold. :(

If you need someone near Denver that is really knowledgable and used to drive a 60 series, let me know. Ige is out there and I'd trust her to inspect anything on wheels for me.

There was a white 62 for sale in spartanburg last week on craigslist. I'll see if I can find it again.

J-Bo, Thanks for the cruiser. I've seen that one on Craigslist before.

I have finally put the restrictions on my search, so maybe it'll be easier to find a truck.

The truck will be used mostly for wheeling, camping, and tailgating during football season. Scratches, small dents, and a little rust are OK. I have up to $3k to spend on a stock truck, would prefer to spend less so there is money left for baselining and mods. Could convince the :princess: to stretch to $4k for a modified truck (lift, tires, bumpers, winch, lockers, etc. any or all are acceptable). Anything local is better, because travel funds cut into Cruiser budget. I am open to most any truck but my preferred order is this:

1. FJ60
2. F(Z)J80
3. FJ55
3. FJ62

I don't know why, but I like the 62 the least. I won't even put the hundy in there, cause I can't afford one.

Thank you all for your help so far, and I hope to get this settled in the near future.

Awesome! Thanks! The first one is gone, and the third one hasn't returned my phone call. Will contact the second tonight!

Sounds good. I'll keep an eye out.

i am thinking about selling my 62.... let me know if you are interested.

Don't tease...anything's possible. Let us know what you're thinking. I'm not just shopping for Carp.:hhmm:

Juice, thanks for the links. #5 and 7 are already sold. I always seem to call when someone is on their way to look at it...

As much as I want one, I can't justify a 40 now. :( I'm gonna check on the others today... Will keep everyone posted.

Swampy, what you got?

I got a 1988 fj62 with 236k. it is two tone blue and gray (ive painted the very bottom of the sides, grille and bumper black) with 2" extended shackles, add-a-leafs in the rear + some for the front not installed, hellas on the front, a home-made storage unit in the back. it has a few dents and scratches, but not much rust. it will be in the less-than-3500 category, but i am not exactly sure on the price that i would ask yet. if you are interested, let me know. i need to install shocks, clean it up a bit and decide on an asking price. I am located in North Augusta, SC (~2.5 hrs south of Greenville) Below is the best up-to-date picture i have here at work. If you are interested i can give you more details and better pictures.
