What is the shaft diameter, or the thread spec on a 1974 FJ40? I don't have any of my trucks here so I can't measure it. The hole is worn out and allows the stud to play around in the mounting, causing loose tire syndrome. I figure I'll drill out the hole, stick a bushing in there, and be done with it. Yep. I know about replacing the steering arm, but the replacement steering arms might have an amount of play in them as well. Thanks.

My mistake, what I am looking for is the thread spec on the stud that goes through the steering arm to the knuckle, with the castle nut on top of it. Thank you for clarifying, and thanks for posting that thread spec as well!

The drum brake knuckle studs are 11mm. THey do not use castle nuts. According to my metrics supply house, there are no aftermarket sources for 11mm products. I have made no effort to confirm this.
