Tie Rod End Boots (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

If I use a ball joint separator to remove my tie rod ends (not a pickle fork), will I damage the boots?

Yeah, I have the top one from Harbor Freight.

I use this without sustaining any boot damage.

I use a hammer and don't touch the boot at all. A sharp rap on the side of the tapered receiving joint causes the joint to release with no fuss. You can't use this method on aluminum knuckles though.
