Victory's customer service gets a plus from me. I called about the missing latch and with no questions asked they sent out a new one. Easy to get a hold of and easy to deal with, as all things should be.

Love my SSO sliders. And everything Kevin and his crew do over there. As a matter of fact, I have to go pick up the GX from them today. I didn’t want to mess with the coolant valley leak so I had them do it. And while it was there had them swap out the water pump and all associated pulleys and the serpentine belt.

I hope that I'm equally thrilled with mine. They seemed like the best mix of price, quality, looks, and functionality.

That was fast. How long ago did you order?
Ordered the sliders 10/30
Ordered the bumper 11/4

I honestly was not expecting them any time soon. Like February or March. This was a lot sooner than anticipated, but that'll actually work out great since I get to take my work truck home until the end of this year. Having professional tools at home is the best, especially for stuff like this.

Ordered a Diode Dynamics 18" combo light bar.

The girly took the GX today so she could take the dogs to the vet, so I had to do this one blind.

Since the rock sliders were coming in today, I stopped by Northern Tool and picked up some white penny lights. I'm going to use these as puddle lights since I'll soon be removing the stock ones. I had some aluminum diamond plate laying around (hey, there's that phrase again...) and cut it up to use as mounts. I'm not too worried about the appearance that much, since the amount of people crawling under my car is going to be very limited. I made two pairs for each side, but I also made one to go on the rear. If they wind up not working, whatever, the diamond plate was free.

I'm planning on doing something like that also during the week off between Christmas and New Years. I'm thinking of using LED light strips. I really like how my interior lights come on as I approach my rig even before I touch the door handle. Now I'd just like to see the ground below the doors as I'm coming up to it.

The running board lights on my 2013 do just that, they come on with the interior lights as I approach. Yours don’t?

Mine already does that on the outside. I just want to retain the function, while giving it a 21st Century look with white LEDs.

Sliders still haven't come, but I'm still starting on this.

Rate my cuts.

Looks really good!
You may want to add some plastic trim along the edge as is on my rig: Post #27: Builds - R2M 2013 GX460 Overland Build - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/r2m-2013-gx460-overland-build.1104719/page-2
It adds a cleaner look, hides any errors in your cut and will keep paint from peeling along the cut edge.
Just a cheap suggestion.

****ing FedEx has gone to s*** since the pandemic started. First it was Saturday, then it was Sunday, then they had the balls to say that it was coming a day ahead of schedule on Saturday (again), Saturday passes and now the delivery is "pending" with a signature required.

Watch them try to deliver it tomorrow when the girl and I are both working.

Careful, when I get that now it’s a lost package. You should call fedex to verify someone can put hands on it.

It pinged the Greensboro, NC hub a few hours ago. If it doesn't make the Durham hub by tomorrow then I know there's an issue.

Looks like it accidentally took a truck ride west to Kernersville, NC. They're saying Monday now. Incompetence is infuriating. FedEx usually comes in the afternoon, hopefully I can get home in time for them.

In other news, the penny lights are wired up and work like a charm. Until the sliders are on I just have them bolted on to the mounting location for the factory steps, so we'll see how it all comes together.

Tuesday's gooooooonnnneee... with the wiiiiiinnddddd

Still no sliders. FedEx is worthless.

They're here and the primer is on. Next is paint and bed liner.

FedEx made sure to leave their mark after this whole ordeal. One of the mounts was slightly bent, but it's nothing that bolting them on won't change. That's the cost of cheap freight and packaging, though. The expected delivery dates were as followed before appearing in my driveway: Saturday > Sunday > Saturday > Sunday > Monday > Tuesday > Wednesday > Thursday. The FedEx driver signed for them himself and left them unattended. They're just terrible.

FedEx freight (for the bumper) has been better, though. They actually called me to make sure that a truck can get to my house and gave me a four hour window, so at least there's that.

It's welllll past beer-o'clock but I'm still getting after it. Bed liner is on. Awesome stuff.

Now we have to patiently wait.

In other news, the Diode Dynamics light bar is going to be here on Friday. Perfect timing.
