looks, kind of naked back there! o_O
My salesman called to check in and see how things were going, I sent him that picture and got a solid, "What the hell are you up to tearing apart a brand-new car!?!"

It's all back together and functioning-ish. I got the compressor to pump from the little tire inflator panel but haven't run anything up to pressure yet. I used black RTV to secure it to the panel, so hopefully that holds and cures overnight.

Tested out the air compressor.

Overall, works pretty good! I'm definitely pleased with it. As seen yesterday, I removed the interior quarter panel to get to the wiring and back side of said panel. I cut the hole using a hot knife, but the results were pretty spotty on that end. I cut the whole a little too wide, but the panel is still in place. Like I said earlier, I used black RTV to secure the control panel to the interior panel, but I didn't make it as clean as I'd hoped, mainly due to the slightly-oversized hole. All of the fittings I used were just spare brass I had laying around.

I made sure to leave enough space with the fittings to retain access to the jack.

Final look under-hood:

And while the panel was out, I added a USB port to the cargo area. I did this while I had the panel out of the car, which explains why it's slightly crooked. Damn.

Just a suggestion, maybe add a right angle quick connection to your female end so you can rotate it outward and not stress your air lines and in use.
Is there enough room in that little cubby where your air connection is to keep your air accessories, e.g. tire inflator, air blow nozzle for beach toys or blowing off dust, etc.

I have a right angle fitting on the male end of the air line. Either way there's going to be leverage on plastic.

There should be more than enough room, since the panel doesn't really take up any space at all in the cubby. I keep the air chuck and line bungee-corded to the upper shelf.

Garmin Mini 2 dash cam that I picked up on Black Friday is in. Doing dash cams the right way is such a pain in the ass sometimes, but the end result with no visible wires is worth it. I like putting my dash cams behind the mirror on the passenger side, that way I'm not distracted by the lights.

That compressor setup is slick!

I think that I'm going to like it a lot, it's definitely super convenient. A lot of hard work, testing, and planning seemed to pay off, that's for sure.

Though I can't take full credit for it. I just found a way to mimic the air compressor setup in the Land Rover Defender.

I've been using the brass ones from Amazon: Amazon product ASIN B017S44ARO
Sometimes you have to jiggle a wee bit to get a good connection. Not great but simple, cheap and they work.

I'm going to pick up a good one when the tool truck stops by today. I just had a cheap one laying around.

I feel like I've said "laying around" a lot. Is that an indication of a problem?

good looking build. love the color.

Nice air setup. I'm still looking for a place to mount my compressor, the area behind the fuse box already has an aux fuse/relay box so there's no more room. I'm probably going to mount it in the wheel well space above the drivers side rear tires, there's a ton of room behind the panel.

I'd use a swivel connector, probably would put less strain on the plastic and free up more space in the cubby if you wanted to store stuff in there. It rotates a full 360 in all directions so you're never side loading the connector.

That area is where the factory air compressor for the rear air bags sits. I didn't want to put mine back there for fears of corrosion.

I have a few of these on my air tools. I've had them leak, crack, or just fall apart on me. I don't trust their reliability. They are nice when they work, though.

Clean install. Where did you power it from?
