I found that a fj40 bikini top fit really nice. within an inch or so of each side drip trim. Perfect for what I did.

There is a coupon code that should work on ebay, which will get price under $100 for both pieces you need. See details below.

That's awesome. Thanks for the tip. If I can't make the drop cloith work I'll go that route.

Hell yea. Why can't we just be happy with 80s as they are?????

:worms:

Just like life. Keep one at home that is stock -- as god intended. Perfect as she was made and very reliable, maybe throw on a couple bolt on items. Then have a sweet one available when you need a good fix. Little lighter, little faster, just all around more fun.

I hope you don't have an old lady that reads MUD!

Hey, go buy that bikini on ebay,,,,

eBay until 3pm PDT 6/30 is offering a coupon for $15 off $75+ orders. At checkout, apply coupon code CruiseN2Summer for the discount. Thanks

good looking out!!! Think I missed it though.

I think I found one local with the windshield bracket for $50. It's a craiglist deal though so.... who knows.

I'm currently in the middle of a bunch of maintenance. Heater hoses, coolant, plugs, VC gasket, and low pressure power steering lines. Then it's onto building some kind of roll over protection and hopefully a fun raod trip/weekend of wheeling....

So It was a whirlwind of maintenance and roll cage building the last week or so, but I got it done.

I took Whitetrash on a little shakedown run to Rausch Creek (600 miles round trip) and she performed amazingly well. 75-80 MPH on the interstate and wheeled all weekend without issue. @jcardona1 was right when he said it "would climb like a ******* mountain goat".

The only thing I will change is to get rid of the Man-A-Fre drop brackets. I beat the piss out of them in the rocks. The Drivers side one is ground down pretty good and bent over to the side. I only have 285s and there just isn't enough clearance to run something that hangs down so low.

Anyway onto the pictures.

Ready to hit the road.

Just to reiterate. This thing is ridiculously capable. I did everything in the pictures w/ out difflocks. We had @beno and his sweet 70 series with us so we weren't trying to get into anything that would dent up his rockers. I didn't ever really get to test Whitetrash's limits, but I'm sure they are higher than mine.

Some more pics because they are fun.

As a follow-up: Cage building sucks. Mad respect for guys that have the patience to bend and notch tube all day. I made 4 bends and 7 notches and it took like 3 days. Most of it was sitting there trying to wrap my head around how my notch was going to fit. The cage still isn't done, but i need to practice bending tube on something easy before I tackle the front A-pillars.

The truck did awesome! Can't wait to see it on the trails again. Something about driving to the event, wheeling, and making it home has a lot to be said.

Just used my raffle winnings (SOR gift cards) to order up a bikini top and a windshield channel.

Awesome! I noticed a big difference during my last wheeling trip in the truck's ability to climb merely by losing several hundred pounds of expo crap I had in the back (running without a rear bumper for now). I can only I imagine what a bob and chop would do!

When I was airing down my tires I didn't use a gauge and just went until I could see a bulge. When I filled up at the end of the day turns out the rears had like 5 PSI in them. That's how low they had to get before I noticed.....

Threw the 35s on and fitted a bikini top. I've just been driving it recently. So fun.

I'm on the hunt for some full doors so I can drive this baby in the winter.

So how are guys getting any kind of flex out of their front OME J-springs? Even with the rear being so light it does ALL of the articulation. I figured being about factory weight up front and much lighter in the rear would force the front to move a little more.

Are the J springs just too heavy for a non-expo 80? I have essentially the same setup as @Apounder and the front end doesn't move until the rear is completely maxed out... She wheels fine, but sometimes it's fun to LOOK cool too...

I should probably stop worrying about it.

Finally got this old girl weighed. With 315s on 17x9 aluminum wheels and no spare tire, a winch/plate up front and no passenger i was sitting at about 4600 lbs.

That still seems heavy as s*** to me and I don't see how I could drop anymore weight.

Dang, that's about 2,000 lbs lighter than mine! And that's without a rear bumper and expo crap.
