Need some advice on how to free up the spare tire. It won't crank. I lubed it up hope that would free it up but got nothing. It's difficult to see and harder to access given the spare shields the mechanism. Any words of wisdom? Thanks in advance...

"Packing material".

I'm surprised to hear it's mounted under the truck with a rear fuel tank.

I was very jealous there for a minute. :)
I guess it could be converted into a t-shirt if one is not all that picky. Cruiserdan nailed it. It's a bag that the parts came in. Nice touch though...

Yeah. I'm not sure if that's the original configuration as all the holes for mounting in the bed are present. It sits behind the auxiliary fuel tank. It has 25 years of exposure from sitting there and I need to break it loose...

That Cruiserdan guy is almost psychic.

Just remember the redneck motto ..... "Hold my beer and watch this".

To be heard a lot in Cullman, AL in September ;)

In cruiserdan's case I think you're mistaking psychic with mucho experience! One is almost the same as the other with him...
After 80 years you would expect him to be good at his job. :rimshot:

That makes three of us ....

Which may very well explain my stuck spare. I probably didn't even have the crank in the drive. Sheesh...

Are you opposed to having the spare up against the cab?
