It's been a while since I've posted to this thread so I thought I would give a brief update. I'm still loving the Ute. What an impressive, smoking, noisy machine! It has been fun and interesting learning an understanding the nuance of a Toyota diesel. I 'm slowly sourcing parts. I've slowed down some as they trickle in because I have to have time to install them. Recently, I got new door weather stripping and replaced that. That was a quick easy fix. Coupled with replacing the wing window gasket a while back, the whistling has stopped. It is now quiet enough in the cab to hear the old chirping speedo cable that will soon be replaced as the new one is sitting in a box. So a couple of photos...

All the small things replaced on the truck seem insignificant but I just keep chipping away. A wise 75 series owner on Mud told me that tinkering=happiness. Another thing that needed replacing very badly were the fender well skirts. It took a long time for me to find them and even longer to get them. I needed them early in the Spring when the starlings were very persistent in their nest making activities. Well, I think I've finally gotten it taken care of. Before and after photos...

I like to try and clean up 25 years worth of grime and grit as I replace a part and that eats up more time. The truck has been repainted quite poorly so there is overspray on most exterior parts. One of the things that doesn't provide any "pop" but was bugging me were the rusty brake drums. Ever since I replace the wheels the rust could be seen through the wheel slots so I went to work on them this past weekend and I'm pretty happy with the results. Pix, start to finish. Sorry about the poor quality of photos...

The Ute came with an Gunyah awning installed and I hadn't yet opened it up to see what kind of shape it was in, fearing the worst; unrolling shreds of canvas material that couldn't be rolled back up and having to drive with the thing hanging like a flag. It was actually a pleasant experience. It's actually pretty sweet. It will be useful on camping trips. It is missing a connecting nipple but I should be able to come up with some kind of a replacement. Check it out...
The ice chest full of beer is missing from the photo. 
Can you post a photo of the awning rolled up and stowed?

No need for a stencil. They are an available OEM part.Did you happen to make a stencil of those lower guard rubber flaps. I would like to knock a set up and give them a try in our Australian heat.

Since I received the first prototype, Rob had to make it idiot proof.
Are the interior lights 24v only, or do they come in 12v versions as well?
