Which bolts were missing, we can probably get you a few more as long as we have them?
Thanks Dave! Because my windshield cap is pre-75, it requires 4 of the bolts to hold it to the windshield frame, rather than just two. I was also surprised the kit comes with the hardware for the inner L bracket, but not the outer screw and nut for the upper door frames (see photos). I'm not sure what size screw/nut these are as this rig was disassembled and the screws long gone when I bought it. Please reference order ORDER #OLM4405. Thanks again.

Out with the old, in with the new. Just getting this test fitted for now, will primer/paint before install. I went with the correct 1972 windshield cap to match up to my windshield frame, so this top is going to truly be a hybrid now.

I’ve got one of those in my future too! In the big ol long box waiting in my garage.

What I need vs. what I've got.

I have the original 3-speed transmission, and the bellhousing for it is already on the 2F. The Seller also threw in a 4-speed with a Downey universal SB bellhousing. What I want to do is put a H55F in this because I want to be able to go down the highway to my fishing spots without getting rear ended by an 18 wheeler. So I don't need any of these, but my question is will this 3 speed bellhousing mount to the H55F, or will I need a new bellhousing for that? Also, can this propeller type crossmember work with the split-case transfer case? Thank you!

The H55F has a different bearing cover that is more hour glass shaped. A 3F or 2F bell housing will bolt up to a H55F. The 2F needs a little work with a die grinder for the bearing oil galleys. The 3F bell housing also cants the transmission a few degrees lowering the outputs of the TC.

Made some progress on the top. Sanded most of the old headliner adhesive off. Fixing some gouges, hairline cracking, and rash in the fiberglass.

Also worked on the windshild cap/visor thing. Used the old one as a template for where holes should be drilled, painted it in Cygnus white, painted the top in the hard-to-reach places once this is installed, and put some butyl tape on it before riveting it down.

I know NOTHING about 40's other than I wish I had one. But I gotta say this looks a LOT cleaner than some of the stuff I see guys fixing on other builds. Don't be discouraged, it looks like you have a pretty good base to build on. I'll be following along.

The work on the top continues. Got the gutter removed and the old seam sealer cleaned up. Also repaired some fiberglass damage with West System epoxy (marine epoxy made for fiberglass) and some fiberglass filler. Next up is fixing up the gutter. I was hesitant to remove it, but now that it's off I'm glad I did. It's worse than I suspected with surface rust, but should clean up nice.

Built some dollies for the frame and got the frame put on them. Now I can start working on the thing without breaking my back. Also got the rain gutter blasted...some before and after photos...
