I assumed that would be the case. How does the actual cooler work? What did they install it on (80 or 70)? Were any mods required to the hood?
There are two holes that just need to be enlarged for the pipes to fit. As for the tranny cooler I'm guessing it would need to be relocated. I did have a factory one but I needed to move mine. I only have one horn and it still fits.
Frank, I read your thread on lcool, sounds like you had a bad experience there. My xxi had to be customised to suit the turbo setup, and I also worked with both Mark and Andrew to do the install, there was no leftover tubing bunched up anywhere, plenty of foam was used to prevent rubbing, fans were clear of the rad, and I've had no issues with the system in 6 months
Gee you where lucky to get a good install, I ended up with the water pump cabled tied to the brake lines off the ABS control module. Got the story the bracket was not included in the quote. Ended up with total heat soaking the system towing a caravan so went and reinstalled the front mount Safari. EGT's where fine but for the only time did the A/C cut out on high pressure cut off. Never had an issue before or after and really who wants to drive around in summer with no A/C.
Bernie, that's interesting, I've never had an issue towing, my EGTs are well within the safe range, and the cooler has never heat soaked. I've got a 2 ton dual axle box trailer, and regularly tow it 200 km + each way on trips in 40 deg ambient temps. My pump is also cable tied in position, and I have no problem with this. Sure, a bracket would be a nice touch, but it's certainly not the end of the world. All piping near the pump mounting point has been foam wrapped to prevent damage, Mark and I did this during the install, and I've had no issues. My AC runs >10 deg all day every day, driving around up here with no AC is unpleasant no matter what time of year it is. The only issues I've had have been with the original Garrett turbo, air box, snorkel and exhaust install, which was performed by a very reputable workshop under direction of the previous owner, however some of these may be due to lack of maintenance as much as cutting cornersGee you where lucky to get a good install, I ended up with the water pump cabled tied to the brake lines off the ABS control module.
