It only happened on the one trip so difficult from only the one time but it did what it did so there is a thresh hold to the system and in my unqualified but experienced thoughts is that the heat load it was trying to transfer out of the system from the intercooler was high enough volume to then transfer back onto the A/C condenser. If there had been water temperature gauges and sender units either side go the I/C radiator, a more definitive assumption could be made.
Even a quality engine water temperature gauge could of shown any raise in temperature from the engine radiator.

What size heat exchanger (radiator) is used in this system?

The picture above sure makes it look like the air flow is blocked and restricted?

Thermostat, the big "secret" with these from what I am reading is to get the largest amount of water volume as possible. There is now a huge water tank in my friends passenger side rocker/frame space. Run the biggest lines possible (1")

Hey BCR4619,
I squeezed a nice sized dimple tube tranny cooler between my air-con and intercooler. I'm using it as a PS cooler but it's large enough to cool your auto.

Bracket to support the hood and hold tranny cooler.

that is a really slick set up but I would highly doubt it would fit under the bonnet of my truck.

I can understand your frustration about the bracket, to me, it's not essential, but I can definitely see your side of things. 40+ days are definitely more than average up here, but I've never had an issue. What did Mark think of it?

Rob, I have a pump bracket I made, it mounts off the top shock nut. If you want it 'pm' me your postal address and you can have it.

At the expense of heat soak overload behind it in my case, and I forgot to mention I has a Warn winch but no driving lights in the front bar .
An engineer once said to me it's just built with the biggest cores they could fit in, no magic there.
Twin thermo fans running non stop, not even a front mount A2A system does that (if they would fit that is).

Did you go with the ebay setup and source your own rad?

Probably reinventing the wheel a little but I'm going to experiment. The rad is from eBay 24x12x1.25 or so. From reading a bit it seems the heat exchanger is more of an issue for w2a than the size of the intercooler. I'm starting with a smaller rectangular intercooler also from eBay.
This is all part of a 1hd-t/manual conversion so results will be slow to come. I'm also adding in the turbo parts that @ForealBoreal came up with
