Install was easy and quick which was a big plus.

That looks like a really nice kit! Was there any cutting involved? Looks like the horns need to be relocated? Any idea if an OEM tranny cooler would still fit with this kit?

There are two holes that just need to be enlarged for the pipes to fit. As for the tranny cooler I'm guessing it would need to be relocated. I did have a factory one but I needed to move mine. I only have one horn and it still fits.

I assumed that would be the case. How does the actual cooler work? What did they install it on (80 or 70)? Were any mods required to the hood?

All in 80 that I'm aware of .. and no mod was needed to the hood, although I believe ( again for us down here ) and scoop would help since the head soak it's no joke for us ..

Nothing planned for a Dyno as for how much difference it made that will be hard to tell because I also added a grunter extreme turbo at the same time.

I bought a generic intercooler off eBay for 60$ plus some piping, the issue I am running into if I ever finish this is space in the front.... With a aftermarket trains collet there I can't figure out how to mount it. I have been told to push the AC condenser back and things should fit.... I may end up paying someone to do it if all else fails, I can do most of my work, but I don't have access to welding aluminum for attaching to the core or modding the pipe....

Where did you put your trans cooler?

Haven't decided yet, I'm waiting for the extreme valve body to show up and then I'm going to figure it out. The plan is to trim the grill so I can keep it out front.

Frank, I read your thread on lcool, sounds like you had a bad experience there. My xxi had to be customised to suit the turbo setup, and I also worked with both Mark and Andrew to do the install, there was no leftover tubing bunched up anywhere, plenty of foam was used to prevent rubbing, fans were clear of the rad, and I've had no issues with the system in 6 months

Gee you where lucky to get a good install, I ended up with the water pump cabled tied to the brake lines off the ABS control module. Got the story the bracket was not included in the quote. Ended up with total heat soaking the system towing a caravan so went and reinstalled the front mount Safari. EGT's where fine but for the only time did the A/C cut out on high pressure cut off. Never had an issue before or after and really who wants to drive around in summer with no A/C.

So your saying Bernie this fabulous cooler that cost more than anything else on the market does get heat soak like every other w2a and doesn't come with a 20 buck bracket.

That's what I found Nathan, didn't take much of a hill to do it either, worse still was I lost a shet load of $ when finally it sold.

Did you have the big reservoir tank under the rocker panel? I recently saw a full XXi set up and it was going to wear a hole because it was touching the bonnet. Only fix would be a .5" body lift. That would be frustrating

Bernie, that's interesting, I've never had an issue towing, my EGTs are well within the safe range, and the cooler has never heat soaked. I've got a 2 ton dual axle box trailer, and regularly tow it 200 km + each way on trips in 40 deg ambient temps. My pump is also cable tied in position, and I have no problem with this. Sure, a bracket would be a nice touch, but it's certainly not the end of the world. All piping near the pump mounting point has been foam wrapped to prevent damage, Mark and I did this during the install, and I've had no issues. My AC runs >10 deg all day every day, driving around up here with no AC is unpleasant no matter what time of year it is. The only issues I've had have been with the original Garrett turbo, air box, snorkel and exhaust install, which was performed by a very reputable workshop under direction of the previous owner, however some of these may be due to lack of maintenance as much as cutting corners

Rob,
the pump was cable tied to brake lines, bit hard to tell on this photo but I do have a better one somewhere, for a expensive system and then having to get slugged more to have a proper bracket made, hey but if you are happy with that look.

Any other time it was fine but it was a 40 C deg + day (not unusual in Australia) on the Cunningham Highway below the range and the van tare is 2.5T.
3rd, 4th or 5th gear ,100 or 70 KmPH it did the same, EGTs never got over 450C deg. I'm only telling as is happened.

I can understand your frustration about the bracket, to me, it's not essential, but I can definitely see your side of things. 40+ days are definitely more than average up here, but I've never had an issue. What did Mark think of it?

It only happened on the one trip so difficult from only the one time but it did what it did so there is a thresh hold to the system and in my unqualified but experienced thoughts is that the heat load it was trying to transfer out of the system from the intercooler was high enough volume to then transfer back onto the A/C condenser. If there had been water temperature gauges and sender units either side go the I/C radiator, a more definitive assumption could be made.
Even a quality engine water temperature gauge could of shown any raise in temperature from the engine radiator.
