I can remember the buzz in high school:

There's a black rock band!
-A what?
A black rock band!
-Nah, someone's pulling your leg.
A black rock band!
-Nah, we'd have seen them on MT......V...whoa!!!!! The colors, Body Glove, the guitar, the groove!

I was in college.
We couldn't understand what we were seeing and hearing.

GnR and Living Colour breathed about five more years of life into hard rock.

Virginia state inspection is such a ****ing scam.

Failed for play in hubs which Ryan checked somewhat recently and a minor rack leak which all 100s have…clearly a safety issue.

Where should I take it to get a legitimate reinspection?

Who’s want to buy it? 265.5k miles. Has dents and front end fix courtesy of the wife. Spotless undercarriage. Since 225k: Full timing belt service done and high pressure O ring replaced that requires dropping the transmission, new Toyota LCAs and full front end refresh, new Toyota alternator, recent battery, functioning factory rear locker, Slee sliders, escape gear seat covers, re-index’d torsion bars, Trail Tailor diff drop, Hella supertone horns, Alpine wireless CarPlay head unit, 33” Falkens with matching spare, Wits End fire extinguisher mount, new factory glass headlights, Depo clear corners, Trail Tailor HD sway bar links (rears need to be installed), Dobinsons springs to install.

Probably forgetting something

It would seem that Bo and Luke lost a little of their magical jumping ability when they bought a white Mitsubishi. This is from last night, just a few miles from me in Charlotte.

Something I'd image @emorth would ask

My wife's Audi EV was rear ended on Thursday in McLean. Got pushed into another car. No injuries. No airbags. Adjuster came out yesterday to look at the car and was kinda dismayed at all the damage from such a moderate crash. I'm pretty sure the car's architecture has been tweaked. The door gaps on the right side are all tighter on the bottom than the top. One headlight might be broken... $9100 for just the part. Modern cars, and EVs in particular, are for suckers.
Every part I looked up was at least a grand. Aluminum hood $2K. Taillights $3K. Diffuser $2K. It's nuts. Must be a few dozens parts needed before it's even torn down.

I'm hoping for a fast total out. Else it's gonna be potentially a six to 9 month repair. There aren't many decent shops that are certified to work on aluminum bodied Audi EVs. My first choice is Euro Pros in G-burg, but they can't even look at it for four months. lol.

One headlight is $9100? Or did you mean "parts" instead of "part"?

One. single. headlight.

The really crazy thing is that the insurance adjuster told me he once had to write up an estimate with a $13000 headlight.

Last week, Hertz announced that they're reducing their EV fleet due to repair costs and low demand.

Ugh...Audi has some amazing cutting edge tech, but their parts are just stupid expensive to get OEM. I'd expect that a quick total write off would be best for you at this point.

I had a 2003 RS6 that I sold to get my 80...I did a motor pull to rebuild the turbos and eventually did a 6 speed conversion while everything was out. To get OEM parts which I always prefer, I had thousands of $$ just in bolts, gaskets, and basic rebuild parts. To buy the turbo mount studs and nuts (which were special to Audi only for the RS6 of course), they were about $32 per stud/nut combo and you need 8. I had a couple of lifters that would loose pressure when sitting for a week or so, they were $28 each, but there are 40 of them...o_O

No thank you.

C5 RS6...especially if it was a wagon

LOL... not an avant, but a beauty no less...tempermental at times, but a true rush to drive!

I remember my coworker buying a mid-level C5 back in '99. It was tan or silver, and I really didn't like the design at the time, especially the rear end.
But credit to Audi... it's aged very well. Especially in that blue (Mugello?)

Correct on the color! Mugello Blue....I think it was only on the RS6 version which was one year only in the us for 2003 (other years around in Europe). Back in '03, it was touted as the fastest production sedan in the world, with a hand built cosworth motor putting out 450 hp. I bumped it up to about 600 with hybrid turbo CHRA's and tuning. By today's standards, it's not that much "power", but it was definitely built for high speed transit...windows down at 160 it didn't even buffet in the cabin and had power on tap to still push you back in the seat.

MSR Apline 4 Stainless Cook Set

Duluth is having a 40% of everything sale until Jan 21. Discount is applied in cart but isn't itemized, it's just aggregated as a discount total per order. Anyway, this MSR pot set showed up in the "similar items bought by others" after I added something to my cart; didn't find it otherwise. It's $87 on Amazon. $69 clearance price on Duluth but $42 after discount.
