Only 100 on the run today, surrounded by 40's.

I had a Marmot take a liking to the 100 on yesterday's club trip up on Hermit Pass Road in Colorado's beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountain range.

I made it all the way to where the Landcruiser was sitting in the photo. Dug my front left wheel into too much of a rut that it couldn't come over. Couldn't have used a hi-lift jack but buddies F-150 was more handy
We got together as a local toyota owners group in Ontario here and ran a recovery weekend.. Involved about 20 people over two days; started with gear, prep, emergency planning, recovery points, basic rigging.. then a few practical 'easy' sessions in a field.. day two involved wheeling day which turned out to be a lot of fun.. only the FJ's got stuck 
.. even on 33's.. it was just the 40 series (full lock), 70 series (with tractor tires) and the 100 series that made it without any damage or needing to be recovered (except in demo). Two FJ's died - some water/mud crossings were over the hood. one fj had to be put on a flat bed with starter failure, then alternator failure.. second fj had alternator failure.
the other fj's went around the 'holes' and the 40 and 100 series went through everything. To my surprise as a 100 owner, the 40 had some challenges .. notably due to a/t's, shorter wheel base in a couple scenarios didn't help.. 100 rocked through everything... and then drove 300 km home..
photos to come, these were mild holes, with about 12-14 inches of silt/mud on the bottom and 2-3 feet water on top of that.. under the silt you can find hard bottom, providing you weren't floating.. the 100 series doesn't understand floating, but the fj's floated.. we actually pulled it across by a tow rope by hand. i don't think my 100 even farted crossing it.. okay, small fart, but nothing hectic enough to stop it.. that fj sat for 10 min trying to go back and forth to move through that hole.
yes, i am going to post pics of the 100 going through where the FJ died.. just waiting on uploading.

I'm new to all of this including the forums and trying to figure out how it all works. I'm a happy new owner of a 2006 LX470. So far I have installed xenon depot HID lows and 5w Cree backup lights, painted my wheels K11 GTR color and added 275/70/18 Duratracs, removed the running boards. So far I'm enjoying the vehicle and look forward to putting some miles on her!!!
