It did when it was lower. It melted the plastic shims that the arm rides on.

I haven’t replaced them and it still works just fine.

I was rear ended and had to cut and re-weld the rack and lifted it a little higher. I wish that I had relocated it a little higher.

I had the same issue on my first longer drive with the swing out.

1up sent me a replacement slide and hardware free of charge. I fabbed up an aluminium shield and that solved the heat issue.

I just flip mine over and run it on the DS although I prefer it on the PS for obvious reasons.

I got the 2.0 version and mounted it through the bumper. No more clearance worries.

Here are some pics from our summer trip to the high Sierra. We happened to be out during the heat wave that hit the west coast. We had the nicest weather in the state here at home by the beach. But we left and headed east into the heat. 85 degrees even up at 9000ft. Hot, dusty, bugs... loved every minute. Can't wait to get back out!
