you going to install a mini split in there?

Wired in the genny control, transfer switch, and 240v breaker box today. Got the Ac put back together and wired as well. We have cold air boys :D Running the Ac overnight as a test, but damn does it work well, even without insulation.

I'm amped as ****.

Pulled all the brakes apart this past monday to order new parts, but the anticipated delivery date got moved from the 11th to the 21st. Canceled that order, drove around and found a single set of shoes at northern tool in Burlington.

Repacked all the bearings, got two out of the four brakes working, which is one more than before. The magnets need to be replaced in the other two.

Johnny's house of trailer repair, lol. Big thanks to @Fort Knox for coming by to lend a hand!!

Brake/Bearing info:

2.25 spindle seal ID, 3.370 od
Spindle outer 1.25
Spindle inner 1.75

12"x2" brakes
023-360-00 right hand

Need:
4 ez lube caps
4 Spindle bearing seals
4 inner bearings 14125a
4 outer bearings 25580
2 rh backing plates
2 lh backing plates

Knocked together some drive over ramps today. Moonshine test fit on the big tires tomorrow. Measurements say it should fit with some room to spare, we shall see if that translates to reality.

@GLTHFJ60 we know the Moonshine Motel is gonna be bada$$, but no need for the over-the-top flex by showing off all the wood you can afford to just drive on...I'd rather see you posing with a rolex in front of your McLaren!!

Welp, she fits. The door opening in the trailer is 90.5", and moonshine is roughly 88" wide overall in the front. This is a full width d60, reentered h1s with 3.5" backspacing, and 42" tsls (can't remember the width). Tape measure said it would fit before I bought the trailer, but it's good to see it in reality.

Well, it mostly fit lol.

The ramp door is starting to get ****ed though. Could barely close the door bar after loading this time. Going to have to use a torch and hammer the bottom closed more. I was a bit to the left loading, by maybe an inch, and only the left side is bent like this. Idk how trailer manufacturers get away with such chincy doors when they build trailers with 15k capacity.

Overall, great success. I leave for Gsmtr Wednesday morning.

might be able to use pair of jackstands near the edge to carry some of the weight loading.

The part that needs support is where the door meets the hinge. Not sure how to get something in that spot. I think it's too narrow for a jack stand.

If I did that, then the next thing to fail would be the door structure, continuing to turn itself into a banana. I just need to rebuild the door.

Awesome project. Can’t wait to see it finished.

Would it be possible to make ramps that are mounted on the inside of the door, from floor to ceiling, that would catch the trailer floor when opened…then taking Moonshine’s weight instead of the door all by itself?

100% that would work, would just be extra steps in the process.

I'm going to do something like this, add extra structure to the door itself to support the truck. In hindsight I should have done this alongside the rest of the metal work, but the initial tests months ago gave me false confidence in the strength of the door.

I like it... less design challenges to overcome. That's probably why I never stayed around past that first year of engineering degree program ;)

Long time no update.

After loading moonshine and warping the door right before gsmtr, I heated and smashed the door back flat so we could leave:

Arrived at GSMTR, no issues on the road. Tows pretty well, but I felt it could use more tongue weight:

Unloading at GSMTR, the ramp door hinge broke off and REALLY taco'd the door

Undeterred, we pushed the ramp door closed and set up. Then got yelled at by campus security, and had to move, then set up again. The setup worked extremely well, and we were even able to run the rooftop AC completely off of my honda eu2200i. 10/10.

Loaded up at GSMTR with jackstands supporting the ramp door, and unloaded at the house the same way. Without doing anything to the door other than drive on it more, the door straightened itself out. No clue how, but I'll take it:

For funsies, here's the weight slip coming home from GSMTR. Figure about 25k rolling out to GSMTR.
