This past week, I did some stuff to prepare for CMCC. First was fixing the ramp door. The welds had cracked on the right most hinge, and the left wasn't attached at all. Prepped and positioned the left, glued it in place, ground out the cracked welds on the right, welded that back in too.

Welded a 2"x6" piece of 3/16" plate to reinforce the door around the hinge, and add more weld surface area. Seems to have made the whole assembly more rigid. We'll see if it lasts.

10/10 paint job.

Stuck in a waterproof exterior outlet on the curb side. Large glands front and back should keep water out.

Which powers my LED palm tree nicely. Shoutout to @roadstr6 for the palm tree idea. I had one in college that he reminded me of with his airstream setup, so I had to pick one up for mine. #nostalgia

Threw some 120v LED shop lights up on the ceiling so we have light inside while on shore or genny power. Works great, lots of light. ~9000 lumens between the two of them.

To address the tongue (pin) weight, I needed to move moonshine farther forward in the trailer. With the config of the ramps and wheel wells, that wasn't possible, so the rear of the wheel wells got chopped up. Adding this ~7"x7" 45* angle to the backside will allow moonshine to move forward ~5" or so.

Welded in, another 10/10 paint job, and shortened the wood ramps to match. Also screwed the wood ramps to the floor so they can't move around anymore.

With that, this thread is up to speed. Rolling out to CMCC wednesday.

Weight slip heading out to AOAA/Rausch this past weekend. Somehow I picked up 500# of weight. Not sure if I was more full of fuel on this scale, or I drink more beer than I thought, but iiwii. Big thing is that weight is mostly on the truck now, and not on the trailer. Between the repairs/tires on the ford, or increased (assumed) pin weight, the trailer tows rock solid now. This rig absolutely crushes miles.

The inside makes a pretty good covered workspace for putting together wheels and tires:

I love this palm tree 😆

Couple of weeks ago I found a deal on foil backed 1" EPS foam boards, so I picked up 25 of them. Should be enough to do the first layer of insulation on the whole trailer.

Since logan's run is in a few days, might as well empty the trailer apart and start on a new project, amirite?

Emptied it, cleaned it, sprayed all the surface rust inside with ospho, then masked off the important bits and sprayed a gallon of rustoleum. Really brightened the place up:

Next I'm going to spray this stuff inside all of the wall cavities to create a vapor barrier and give *some* insulation value prior to installing the EPS sheets. Thanks to @jamesurq for the vapor barrier idea!! I should have enough left over from that to coat the roof as well.

Nice idea on the insulation

Got a wild hair to do some last minute work on the motel tonight.

Picked up this old workbench base at habitat a few days ago thinking it would make a neat looking kitchenette base. Before putting it in, I replaced the front floor section again to be able to put a proper access hatch in for the underneath storage, then replaced the header panel insulation with 1" (instead of 2") with thicker ply. This netted about 3/4" extra room, which is welcome.

The space to the left of what will become the kitchenette is for a wet bath. Currently deciding if it's large enough, or if the kitchenette needs to be narrower.

Ready for another trip.

So, now that the interior is getting some TLC, will you be doing a theme of matching wallpaper, flooring, ceiling, and bed/linens??? LOL

Lmao. I just pulled this shirt out a few weeks ago and started wearing it again after a long time, so your timing is perfect.

I'm gearing up to do the insulation in the trailer, and realized that I need to relocate my electronics controls first, as they're on the wall in a temporary spot right now. This means I need to finalize the size of the wet bath, which dictates the final size of the kitchenette. The electronics' final location will be within the kitchenette.

The conclusion I've come to is a 30x34" shower pan, which gives me enough space to use it comfortably (I think). Can't make it any wider than 30" because I'd be running into the vehicle tie down, and much longer than 34" makes the kitchenette too small for my preference. Of course I can't find a 30" wide shower pan that's anywhere between 32" and 36" for less than $600. There are plenty that are 24" wide, and 32" wide, but 24" is too narrow and 32" is too wide.

Long story short, unless someone can find a shower pan for decent money, I'm going to make my own. I have some fiberglass matting, webbing and resin left over from the failed moonshine camper, so I'll give it a shot at least.

Once I get the pan made and I'm happy with the layout, I'll finalize the kitchenette, relocate the electronics, then begin insulation.

They make some pre sloped styrofoam pieces for shower pans. that might be a good start.
Just cut to fit. I've seen them at lumber stores. Maybe Lowes or Home Depot, also.

That's a killer idea. Thank you sir.

Sloped piece for the bottom, and PVC liner over that to contain the water. You're gonna need all the flexibility you can get in that bottom.

I ran across that type, but it seems like the PVC liners always have tile over the top of them. Wouldn't want to stand directly on the PVC liner for fear of tearing it, and tile would surely be less flexible than fiberglass, no?

Example of such a use case:

I'm not married to the idea of fiberglass, but it seems like the best of all the available options.

EDIT: I could do the whole thing out of flex seal, lol:

Was reading the updates looking at my washing machine pan as well. Just the right size. Could put an EPDM liner down inside the frame And set pan on top. Drill drain and add bulkhead fitting. I have some liner I could donate and STI will have it by the foot plus bulkheads for skimmer baskets that may work for you if a standard drain won’t work. 1/8” of “ponding” before spillover but seems acceptable.
