Much more better. Found my 40 series transfer shifter knob. Small victory.

Thanks Matt. Hard to tell add they seem to be riveted to the same place.

So I get home from my trip, ready to get started on Project Goldilocks and find out my $1700 package from City Racer has been lost by UPS: none of the stuff I needed to make the 43 drivable is now here..... My 5 days off are now looking to be a bit less productive.

So now we see how City Racer handles this......

Whoa…that’s gotta suck….especially that you’ve planned the time. Insurance likely will cover it but an expeditious exchange will take the sting out of it. So will 2nd day air.

Not a common event as much today unless the driver has a friend with a Land Cruiser ….hoping you get a call that they found it and will deliver today?

I know…but I am an optimist

Best laid plans of mice and men. Be glad they admit they lost it, rather than it was was delivered the second tuesday of last week.
Around here UPS generally does good.

I open every box and inspect for damage or loss asap. I too plan for work supplies but I'm in the like the box can set for a week or two rather than trust just in time

I get a lot of stuff in the mail - a few times this year things went wonkee. I have learned that tracking #'s are meaningless

I ordered 2 eight packs of pyrex glass food storage containers. Amoron provides 2 tracking #. I follow the tracking for days on both. On like day 6 they are listed as out for delivery. I go get my mail and only 1 box. I check Amoron now says the second box was never shipped. I call Amoron and ask for a refund on the box that was never shipped, and how can I track a package across the country that never shipped. After a bunch confusing crap I'm told I'll get a refund in 4 or 5 hrs. Next day I check no refund, call again - more BS a refund in 4-5 days. 2 days later I get an email package is on the way. 3 days later I get my glass.

Hey Charlie

That’s kind of odd. One thing keeps me close to Amazon is the shipping accuracy, very fast arrivals and near immediate refunds.. frustrating as hell to have to shift gears on plans and as you get older, I understand the cranky ole’ man syndrome. I have that every few hours now

I have quit using Amoron and ebay several times over issues. I quit paypal and cashapp.

Its at least $20 to drive to town and a 2 hour trip. Shopping online is so much less frustrating, but I think it just moves the pain to delivery.

So know I try and buy stuff that ships from Amoron not just sold by them

Second home no Amazon direct deliveries. Mail box with lockers over a mile away. Items that do not fit the box or boxes are full from people.leaving packages for days end up at post office at least seventy five miles away. Better luck with eBay. Most items fit the locker no problem. Had Amazon packs boxes no large something that should have fit the locker doesn't. Last year USPS didn't renew the contract for small contract post office in the area. Stopped using Amazon for anything that might be questionable how it will be packed and buy from someone who uses FedEX or UPS.
I am curious how a refund is handle. USPS will generally only cover up to $50. Sold a 2H bellhousing and matching 40 series crossmember. Buyer was happy because I insisted including insurance to cover the item if lost. It wasn't but if it was sure the buyer would want a refund which I would have expected.

Anyone else notice tracking USPS package going strange paths to get to where they are going? Had a package in the Northwest going to a few cities in the Mid west before heading to AZ. Another starting in NV going to LA them to a few distribution centers Dallas area, then onto Albuquerque before making multiple stops in the Phoenix area.

My mail box is 2.5 miles away. There is only 6 package lockers, and a lot of people don't check very often so I follow the tracking closely and go wait for the mail lady, that saves me a 70 + mile round trip to go get the box. I am amazed at the choices for packing. Stuff that would fit and be safe in a padded envelope that would fit in my mail box, comes in a box that requires a package locker - go figure. Yea shipping journey is also strange at times - east coast to west coast then back to Idaho. I guess they bulk crate stuff for air or truck shipment and redirect at hubs. If you ask me I think SkyNet is running the world!

Has anyone used this pedal on a RHD application? RHD doesn't use the linkage like LHD, of course. Mine has a severe amount of slop where the pin has beveled the holder mounted to the firewall.

That holder is a very easy piece for me to make new inexpesinvely , if you want to just add that to the list :)

You are a Cruiser legend Matt, thank you. As soon as the Hilux is sold (waiting on BaT to go live, it's all approved and ready) I want to get you on this thing: brake lines, H55, etc. Can't wait to get her up to speed.

The list is getting looooong on this 'restored' machine.

Seller just texted me: the 43 was picked up 15 minutes ago. Anyone who happens to see it on the truck in Tx, La, Ms, Al or Fla will get a free like if they post a pic here.
is it coming thru Tampa/Ft Myers? I'll be on the look-out--

Slowly finding my parts in the attic; Aisin hubs, viscous fan (third world uses fixed fan: loud!), a/c harmonic balancer for 2F, radiator splash guard, clutch fork ( mine is welded
third world-style) AND the heater hose tube for the engine..... it's slowly coming together.

Somewhere I've got a bolt-in dash RHD with all the switches, etc.....unless I sold it and forgot.

It's like Christmas to myself from 9 years ago.

Let me trade you a new, correct, 75-84 clutch fork for your application for that 85-87 clutch fork.. I need that one 😉

That tube pictured is actually hr oil cooler tube that bolts to the valve cover, not the heater tube that goes behind the distributor which has bends on both ends ( i have several of those for you though)

I need to calibrate the speed and the fuel sender, but everything else seems to work (waiting on the temp- which doesn't seem to work.....). Does anyone here happen to know the number for the fuel sender on a '79-'84 40?

Great, thank you Matt.

Update: water temp showing a reading of 83 ohms on the cluster, but no reading. Thoughts or ideas?

Update: it was set to the wrong sender. I've set DD F sender and all's good.

@cruisermatt I don't suppose you've got a radiator oxbow for a factory air con 40 laying around by any chance.....? I need a new rad and I'll be widening this one 1.5" for the bigger factory air con rad I think. One thing I've learnt living here for the last 9 years is that one cannot have too much cooling.

I keep the new OEM 16400-49356 radiators in stock, and inexpensively. They are the same part number on a middle east-spec 40's with factory AC and work well. We've done several AC installs with them without issues. I think the wider radiators for AC is only a US market thing. I wouldn't stress about it too much.
Not sure what you mean by oxbow? but probably :D
I also have correct 10mm brake booster hose, 90-degree booster fitting, correct master cylinder, etc etc. to fix all that

The booster and master will be done when you do all my brake lines! Can't stand this Hilux one.

The oxbow: the collar to which the radiator mounts and which bolts to the front cross member.

Are your radiators 4 core?
