Underneath the 250 and new 4Runner will be identical……so what makes it special other than the name?

You are the first person to ever think of this and pose this question, which I'm sure is why you've searched the internet and found nothing and had to ask.

Obnoxious or share the truth? How is it obnoxious sharing the fact that they are based on the same platform underneath??

When is the nicer version of the 250 coming out with the squared headlights? All I am seeing on the road are the round lights....i get it they are trying to mimic the 60, but failed miserably... just looks cheap AF.

Let it go. By definition those in a cult never think they are in a cult and will attack any singing off key. All you need to know is that if it's on the badge it must be reality :p

The GX has been around in the US for 20+ years, nobody knew it was related to the 4Runner either?

Does the lack of 70-series in the US diminish its status as a “real” Land Cruiser too?

Just a badge…

Hey, everyone! Zarathusthra here is just speaking the truth!

The title is backwards. Sine the 250 is already out, logic would dictate the 4Runner is a derivative of the 250. More specifically a NA lower cost version. Think of the 4Runner as the generic version of a good thing.

If we want to be truthful about things:

4Runner/GX/250/Sequoia/Tacoma/300/LX/Hi-Lux are all basically the “same vehicle” if we are using the TNGA-F platform as our barometer.

If that’s the case, then the 70 series is the only “real” Land Cruiser left. 😂😂😂

The 4R and 250 are much more alike and both are much different than the GX, LX, etc.

That many share a version of the TNGA-F platform is irrelevant and is better left as a feel good marketing talking point.

I knew you'd chime in...hahaha

Regardless of personal feels, the market will vote with their wallet if the products are underwhelming, too expensive, or too similar. Toyota knows their customer base too well, and if dealers start creating parking lots with new inventory, Tmc will be forced to rethink their TNGA-F lineup, like they did back in 2010s.

This whole launch as many products as they can isnt isolated to TNGA-F, venza, crown, highlander, grand highlander, rav4, avalon es etc
