I also got a dedicated tool roll to stay in the 40. I hope to fill this and never touch it again 🙏😃

So on today’s episode of Stop it 😃. I have been running with just manual brakes and while they work. You really have to stand on them on steep declines . I have been collecting the parts to modernize this beast for a little while and floured it’s time to get it done . I have always been bothered by the hacked brake pedal also . While I am not opposed to cutting the fire wall rib I don’t want to hack this thing up . I had ordered a bracket from jT outfitters a while back and Cerakoted it. I finally got a 79-83 mini truck booster and the correct brake pedal so today is the day 😳

I am going to pull the new pedal and Cerakote it. Just wanted to make sure it fits

Brakes work like a new car now :steer: Next big thing is replace the steering column with a tilt and removable steering wheel .

Now to figure out where some of this goes 😃

Oh that was just a temp thing to keep my 02 sensor wire out of the way .

I decided to finally tie my cage in the front into the frame today . I have been kinda dragging my feet on this since I had to pull my sliders off to have access to this . Anyways today seemed like a good day to do it .

I'm not even close to building my cage but I've seen the arguments regarding using bushings VS plate to plate to frame tie ins. I'd like to know your thoughts on this. I'd think no bushings would be my choice unless someone who's run both can tell me why not.

If you look back a little you can see where I tied the rear of the cage in . I used a bushing type mount there . Mostly the reason I did that was so I could remove it if I needed . In the front it’s more so a packaging issue . I do have some more of the bushings and tube and have thought about it so everything matches. 🤔. I will sleep on this 🙌😐

I thought you could still lift the cage when you remove the bolts in the floor plates? Plate on top for the cage and plate on bottom welded to the tube to frame. Or do they get in a bind?

i guess in theory it would be stronger to not use a bushing . But would take one hell of a roll over to push the cage through the floor and sheer off the bolts in the bushing .

You could remove the cage . On mine its a little differnt though since my rear Coilover ties into the plate and cage .

Ok I am going to add a bushing to the front 😃 just so it matches the rear. Also it will be just enough cushion since the body is on urethane bushing as well

Easy enough
