almost went on Craigslist again
. I put a diff in the front to measure for a driveline. And seen we had a problem
. What I will end up doing is running my slip yoke At the transfer case side and that will buy me some much needed real estate. My Upper link mount Is so so close. But we only need it to work nothing more and I think we got it . Driveline will be ready next week

No. We will see when i can really twist it up. but i think we are good .Clearance is clearance lol. Does it hit articulating?
No, I was just thinking about starting one just to share information with those who follow in our footsteps. I didn't take many pictures along the way but I think I took enough to help others.Hey @NikP, do you have a build thread?
I had a reply in your build thread all typed out but ultimately decided to delete it because too many people are just straight negative these days and I didn't want to come across that way. I saw your rear links and wanted to question if you ran the geometry through the excel link calculators that are available on the web.Great build. I'm about 4-6 months ahead. I 4-linked/3-linked my FJ40 in October but during the winter my FJ40 has to do double duty as a snow plow so I'm just now getting to the point where I'm running it down the road. I'll be curious how your handling is. I'm really twitchy going down the highway and especially on curving roads. I'm trying to decide if it's 4-link rear steer since I'm just upper triangulated in the rear or if it's needs an anti-sway bar. I plan on running down the highway to get to trails or the 3-hour drive to Moab.
Not sure if you ment to reply to me or the other buildI had a reply in your build thread all typed out but ultimately decided to delete it because too many people are just straight negative these days and I didn't want to come across that way. My '77 fj40 has a rear link geometry almost identical to yours. My lowers are fully outside the frame, and my uppers are up against the frame on the inside. I would guess what you are experiencing with the "twitchy" feeling is roll steer. When your body rolls, the rear axle over steers in the direction that you are turning. This causes a very uncomfortable back and forth on the steering wheel to keep the truck feeling like you are turning at a constant radius like our internal computers are used to navigating. A sway bar may help mask the issue, but the true correction is to fix the geometry. I have made the decision to just not drive my 40 on the street because of the terrible roll steer and have never taken the time to rework the links because i really only use the truck for off-roading and it functions well on the trail.
I quoted NikP, my reply was to his questions. Sorry. Not sure if you ment to reply to me or the other buildBut mine is not twitchy . At least when I drove it around it was not.

No worries . I think since i have wider axles it helps triangulate i dont know . I honestly am not sure how NikP is getting the front to work with a oe axleI quoted NikP, my reply was to his questions. Sorry.
