I hear ya! We keep our lever guns on a rack in the living room, we like them. Our safe filled up pretty fast. It is full when we put the lever guns in there. They all get shot here on the farm. I shy away from the Marlin 444, it's brutal.

With Christmas approaching, I thought I would share a picture of the Christmas tree I had a few years ago before the tragic loss of all my guns in my great boating accident. I miss my guns. I don’t miss having to feed them all.

Got a safe today. Nothing fancy, but nice amount of room 42" wide, 28" deep, 6' tall.

I just wanted big. Yes and "that is what she said," too.

Turns out, if you have a small house, and take up your indoor storage with guns, your non-gun loving significant-other will eventually insist on getting the guns out to your shop in a safe. Who knew!?

We put our safe in the bedroom :) Small house

Heather is closer to her Citori that way

My bride opt'd for putting the safe in our bedroom too. Since it is also our fire safe for documents and such, having it in the bedroom was what she wanted. Then the challenge started; she had to custom order it to get the color size combo that she felt worked in the room. I just sat back and watched at this stage.

If I still had any of my guns, the ones in the first picture would have been my truck gun candidates, depending on the situation. The other four used to be called into duty for longer range work.

Sweet Heysus - and on sale. :)

Edit: Wanted to add that, although unpopular and ugly, I am kinda glad I got that cheaper ($2k) long-barrel "rifle" version of the SP5 - the SP5L - made for CA - my FFL was able to register it as a rifle, which is nice. Plan to shoot it mostly at the range with the nice stock, etc . . and leave the SP5K as a pistol with a brace.

Nice one! That's a smooth shooter for sure. Does H&K still hate their civilian buyers, or has that warmed significantly since Sig/FNH has started eating their lunch on mil contracts?

From the sounds of it, outside of the SP5, not much is going on - they have lost many enthusiasts over the last 20 years with higher civilian prices and arguably quality issues - - but I don't really know much here - just internet stuff I was reading when researching the SP5/K.

I USED to be a fanboy for HK. I have one or two of their pistols. Thankfully I didn't jump on that train head first and saw other options for other hardware. The 416 looks great, but all the proprietary bits among other things gives me pause. Too many other options with aftermarket or even OEM support post purchase.

Last I checked with HK, they viewed civilian market like this:

"You suck and we hate you."
-HK

Don’t keep up with any of this but I still love my compact USP. Granted a 20+ yr old design but 1000s of rounds without fail and just feels right to me.

Enjoyed the MP5 .22 clone because it was cheap to feed and loved to sling brass as fast as you could squeeze but it has moved on to another Mudder for its size/fit for a new young shooter.

Constantly fighting the caliber consolidation vs ooooh shiny urge lol

I lost my s*** on that one this year after being good for so long! Seems all my new calibers are also hard to find and pretty expensive when you do. But, I hate the thought of having something I won't shoot, even if it's only a temporary addition, so I accept that ugly part of the game. Damned first world problems.

A friend sent me this today about braces on short barreled rifles. What say ye?

bad, very bad, the "what to do list" is stupid as F.

Edit: Please note, you can register your pistol with a brace as a SBR for free if purchased prior to yesterday, AND if you do so within 120 days.
