Wow. I'm impressed.
The Old Ball Coach finally got off his keister and decided to win a game.
Old age and experience overcomes youth and enthusiasm.
I had some karma on this one too. I had a chance to buy some tickets from an avid Carolina fan on my team at work. $250 for a pair in the upper deck on about the 10 (they also included some exclusive breakfast with some USC bigwigs.)
I passed on it, I've had a bad feeling about this game ever since the Clemson/Maryland game. Then Stan got a chance to go after all so he was happy I hadn't bought them. Now I guess he's EXTREMELY happy.
Good going Gamecocks. You did what you should have been doing all year if you'd been properly prepared.

LOL at the experience and enthusiasm on S.Car....tied 2nd youngest team in the NCAA and definately enthusiastic.
The game came out as it should have...a dominate SEC team took an ACC team to the cleaners. Clemsux may have a good running game/D in the ACC but even all their skill/depth that has gotten them ahead in the 2nd half could not handle the fast/hard hitting SEC defense.
I really hope Clemsux goes on to beat GT (doubtful) because it's just more fuel to the fire that a middle pack SEC team pushed around the ACC champs.
With all the seniors leaving Clemsux this season and all these young freshmen talent getting better and better with every game at S.Car...AND only losing 9 seniors (and possibly 3 linemen) this year...Im ready to talk smack for the next 364.
S.Car will contend for the SEC championship next season and will continue to kick tiger ass with this crew of up and comers.
I like the way play calling has changed. They used Garcia the way he needs to be used...to utilize his talents...his feet. With Gilmore killing at the wildcat i really dig that change up position. I'd like to see more of it next year just to shake things up in tight games.
Even S.Car's O line looked great today...made holes big enough for my grandma to get through...I don't think the O line is playing any better....i just don't think that even the ACC championship caliber D's are as fast/physical as even the lower class SEC D you find at Vandy or Kentucky.

Congratulations Gamecocks on becoming Bowl bound. It looked like you needed that win saturday a lot more than the tigers did. However it is still funny that the Tigers still have the fate of your bowl destination in their hands. You will not be going back to the Outback bowl, you were too embarrasing last year. You may go to the Chik-fil-a bowl, but if we don't win the ACCCG we will be there and you will go to the Music City Bowl. Which doesn't pay near as much as the Chik-Fil-A or Outback Bowl.

They will go on to play their best at which ever bowl they go to and concentrait on building around the NEW Carolina.
These new guys don't have the same attitude that generations before them had....Clemson is no longer a true rival...Clemson is an out of conference opponet, an opponet from a much weaker conference, this game should be marked as an easy win to finish off every season. The Georgia/S.Car game is much more of a rivalry game for S.Car every year and are much better opponets year in and year out.

since the holtz and spurrier era we have beaten the SEC East elite...Tenn, Georgia and Florida. We've knocked off top 5 teams and won more bowl games than any other coaches combined in the history of S.Carolina.
Say what you want but S.Carolina is far from the doormat of the SEC that they used to be.
If we beat clemson it does nothing but improve our record in hope for a better bowl, the Georgia game is a much bigger game every year for the SEC east.
The only thing the Clemson/S.Car game determines is who gets instate bragging rights for the next 364. Oh and the Hardee's trophy.
The clemson game is really way too much hype....usually you can judge a S.Carolina season by the Georgia game. If we beat georgia it will be a good season...if not....another 6-6. Luckily this season we took care of buisness (better late then never) and ended 7-5
A new era has begun for S.Carolina. It's taken a while but they are still moving in the right direction. Getting over this "why does clemson beat us every year" slump is just another step in the right direction.
With the ACC continuing to get weaker and SEC continuing to get stronger it's only a matter of time before that game is always chalked ups as a win every year for S.Car
besides...if your in the top 4 of the SEC your still better than the top 2 of the ACC!!!!!

and as far as not being able to go back to the outback bowl because of a lack luster perfomance and a lop sided loss...
if getting you tale end kick around made you eneligable to re-enter a bowl Ohio state would have been banned from national championship games years ago...i'm still pushing for them to stop talking about Ohio State is going to run for the national championship this season blah blah blah every september.
