those weihenstephaner hefes are probably the best ones you can easily get around here... they're my favorite, i love a good hefe...

can usually get them at harris teeter, but not cheap...

Seems I like San Diego breweries. This one was no exception

I've seen so much chatter about the Sculpin, that I finally picked up a six from Fermental for Saturday, good stuff, but they were sold out of the grapefruit.
Sunday, I swapped the front sway bar bushings on the 4Runner and finally installed the WabFab disconnects, changes the oil and plug wires, rotated the tires and worked on some rust (I do a bit each time I'm under). When I was done, I was thirsty and since it was Sunday, I thought this might be in order:

It was blacker and thicker than first motor oil I dumped from The Jalopy. It had a super sweet undertone (not my favorite really), and an ABV to put you on your seat - 12%.
I could have used some apostles to help me through this bottle.

Yum. @Roxx, have you still got my beer? And now not coming to URE Thursday? Bummer.

For those in the CLT area, I just got word that Duckworths in Ballantyne has the Stone Enjoy By on tap. I was there on Wednesday night and they were waiting for an empty slot to put the keg into. I did my best to help drain one ;)

good bottle company has it on tap right now, as well as duckworths uptown

May be taking my dad there on sunday

One of the very few beers I would actually endorse for this title.
And its won it 7 years in a row. Truly one of the great ones out there

Went back to grab some more Grapefruit Sculpin and scored this for $13.50. A pretty tasty pale ale

Then I notice the date code when I get home :(. January 30, 2014

I am not so happy now ....

Southern Spirits on 521 South of Ballantyne. It looks like they have 6-7 cases and they are quite proud of them .... $16.50 a six pack. They also have it in cans ...

meh, that's about the going rate... cheapest I've seen it was $14.50 but that was a sale.

Big mark up though. Grapefruit Sculpin back home is the same price as regular sculpin which was 12.99

its hard not to like it as refreshing as it is.

I try not to make a habit of buying it at that price though....
