well as stated @shellb flew out this past weekend for some fun..... lots of coffee and lots of beer, with some sightseeing mixed in it.
Don't have too many pictures as my camera on my phone isn't working the greatest since I dropped it off the train platform last week. (upgrade time there)
But we went to a specialty beer store, three 4 breweries (Odin, Northwest, Pike, Elysian) and a pretty awesome bar right by my pad.
These are the beers I tried over the weekend. (That I can remember)

One thing I have noticed is how cheap good beer is here
A good 22oz IPA from a grocery or specialty store is around $3.50-$7.... rarely is it higher than that.... as opposed to charlotte where it was $7-$12 Stone is suddenly on the high end for beer prices where back home in charlotte it was on the low end. Weird
I'm guessing that just how the breweries over here roll and that they just don't charge that much for their product or they get the hops that much cheaper being in WA where the majority of it comes from. I'll have to look into that more.

Scored a great beer last week (pretty cool store here)
A Mehpistopheles Stout by Avery. Already a semi rare great beer. But this is extremely rare as it is a 2008 vintage.
Not for me though this is for Andrea when she gets here to WA. It's killing me I won't drink any but this is a congratulations gift for her. Got to love a great looking girl that loves great beer.
(this was also by far the most i've ever spent on a 12oz bottle of beer, but so worth it)
I think this vintage is around 18.5%
For now it is being stored in a nice cool dark cabinet in the garage.

If it hasn't already Bourbon County Stout and some of the different varieties should be hitting NC soon.
They say it isn't being sold till black Friday but I scored 2 bottles last night. Bottles are larger than last year with popped out lettering.

It sounded so strange I had to try it, and am glad I did. It was a local brew down in FL.
Funky Buddha Sweet Pot Casserole, which is a spiced sweet potato beer... Sounds strange but it comes out annually and sells out pretty quick apparently.

Pretty solid IPA from montana
damn good scotish ale aged in whisky barrels
The best beer from Samuel Smiths...... and that is saying something.... one I could never really find in NC for some reason.
great selection from Ballast Point..... pretty solid stout
Nice frest hop pale from Oregon
half care package and half payment of a lost bet to @shellb .... very jealous I couldn't keep the fullers for myself. Never seen one stateside myself and the only one the store had. Plus my last triple locked and a BCBS that I managed to score. The other is a mango weisen for Cinder and a rogue root beer for Tori
my haul from the office xmas gift exchange
had it with co-workers at my desk while finishing up a report
Right before the office party started finishing up one report for a client, while drinking a very hoppy IPA
Didn't get many pics from the party worth posting..... we went across the street to the capital grill and had a private room.... the steak and seared tuna was amazing. Hand lots of scotch and some pappy from the cellar. Back at the office we had a large selection of IPAs from local breweries. Best work party i've ever had that is for sure.
A new one from Ballast Point.... a cream ale with coffee and vanilla added.... very unique, very tasty

also a little late but this was the only black friday shopping I did.
Managed to score 4 regular Bourbon County Brand Stouts
And my crown a pretty rare Bourbon County Brand Barleywine
they will all (minus 2 of the stouts that will be traded to some of my beer trading buddies) be going in my "cellar" for aging
None of this compares to Andrea's haul back in NC though.
She got up at 5:30 and was 7th in line at the Good Bottle Company in Charlotte for their sale. They managed to get some of the BCBS rare (comes in its own numbered and signed box) and some of the BCBS Rye.
The rare was aged in 35 year old heavenly hill bourbon barrels. Those of you that know bourbon know seeing anything over 23 years is very rare and not normal a 35 year aged bourbon is pretty much unheard of.
Well you got free raffle tickets when you were in line. first 10 got 10 each and after that everyone got 3. So no one is guaranteed anything as there was only 30 Ryes shipped to NC and 15 Rares.
Well Andrea didn't score a rare but did get her ticket called to get one of the Rye's. (new record set in 12oz beer cost for us there) this is my xmas present from her arriving when she flies over for xmas in 2 weeks.
This is the description of the Rye from Goose Island " This nationally-released variant adds the base beer to Heaven Hill and Jim Beam rye whiskey barrels which are then blended together. Fresh, tart cherries from Michigan were added to the barrel for a few months, while Yakima Valley "single-strength" blackberry juice and Luxardo candied cherries were blended in afterward using a stainless steel infusion vessel. Uniquely, a touch of sea salt was added at the end. "It props the flavors up and rounds out the tartness. "
Always wondered how I got so lucky. A hottie that loves beer, understands good beer, can drink most of my guy friends under the table, is very successful at her job, loves scotch, loves fast cars and off roading and loves camping. I don't think it gets better than that at all.
Anyway enough of the mushy stuff.... this will be going in my "cellar" also soon
