@jfz80 with the 'Gansetts. Just like back home with Grampa.

Anyone not going to LR should go to the RDU Bottle Revolution for their 1 year anniversary on Saturday from 3pm-8pm. My friend Jason runs it and they will have music, food, and Wicked Weed is sponsoring it and will be having these beers on tap:

1. Freak of Nature DIPA
2. Pernicious IPA
3. Tyranny Red IPA
4. Patriarch Pale Ale
5. Xibalba (Pumpkin Seasonal)
6. Serenity Wild Ale
7. Saison XL Whiskey Barrel Aged
8. Black Angel Cherry Sour
9. Tropic Most Gose
10. Helter Swelter [Red IPA w/ Chilies and Citrus Zest]
11. Lupulin Lab: New Zealand Southern Cross

THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ALL IPA LOVERS!!!!

This is one of those situations where "if you disagree, you are wrong".

 Ramon

^^LOL - I will be the judge of that . . .gladly :)

I'm starting to think that the keg I got Pernicious on draft from was bad??? Andrea gave me hers because she didn't like it.... almost unheard of with an IPA and Andrea. I didn't think it was that hot either.... but it seems to be popular in this group so I'm going to grab a bottle tonight and give it another shot.

Popped open my Zombie Dust after Logan's Run last week. All I can say is wow, may be the best Pale Ale I've ever had..... had all the right notes in the right places for me. I prefer a traditional bitter tasting pale as opposed to an overly hoppy one, while I prefer my IPAs to be the opposite, and this hit it on the head.... wish they were sold here..... I may need to nudge some beer contacts to get some more.

and a couple from last night as a prelude from the hellish busy work week to be almost over..... actually in 4 more hours it will be over.

Bloodline Blood Orange IPA from Flying Dog.... as always a solid choice... not quite as good as GF Sculpin but an island to its own.

my least favorite of the evening..... good at first with a bad smoked blueberry aftertaste that you get after a few gulps

This one from shipyard had a unique taste from the Bravo, Apollo, Centennial, Cascade hop combo. Not bad in anyway just something I'd never tasted before.

So @weejub @GLTHFJ60 @Mtbcoach @96Cruiser13 @southerncruiser62 what did you think of the beer last weekend??

Al - I was hoping to save it for the next time we meet, but I should probably drink it as it is a IPA and is best now? I was on business travel this week, so I will drink it tomorrow :)

I went ahead and drank my Yeti :) Really enjoyed the malty start and smooth finish, Al! Hit the spot after the Points Unknown IPA I drank before it.

@weejub - tried the boulevard Calling IPA (wrong glass) along with some ends, cheesy cot back and a mini slab. Jack Stacks, keeping it classy. The calling IPA was tasty, a hint of citrus.

Not to make u home sick but to motivate u to get some Carolina BBQ and a sixer of your favorite Boulevard (total wine or whole foods) this weekend!

Man that looks good! Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Boulevard. I DO prefer KC BBQ to NC BBQ tho, LOL! :)

I used to keep a spreadsheet of rankings for KC BBQ. I'll have to find it.

You may have been to some of these already:

Woodyard - KCK
Wabash in Excelsior Springs
BB's Lawnside - KCMO - BBQ is OK, but the owners has great Blues acts in all the time.
RJs Bob-Be-Que in OP

I could go on . . .

We love NC BBQ - don't get me wrong - especially Allen and Sons here nearby.

last weekends haul

A Finnish Porter.... haven't had many Finnish beers but they always have a unique taste to them that is satisfying

I've had some beers from this brewery before and stumbled around their single malt barrel aged series.

At this store they had a 12, 18 and 21 year old. They also have a 16, 30 and a very rare 50 year old one.

Started out with the 12 year old to see how they were. Wow!!! i'll be going back for the 18 and 21 year soon
