Don't start on the far right Free.... everything else will be a disappointment :D

Now that they stock pernicious at the bottle shop down the street from my house, I find it hard to buy anything else!!

you guys act like i havent tried that one before ;) but sage advice; i went Pineapple>pernicious
it sure is tasty but the new to me ones above were on the left.. victory agave IPA and the Brue32 a pale ale from APEX NC.
second new apex brewery id seen in a week so had to give it a go. nice smooth pale

Freak of nature is the other one I discovered this past October. Both that and Pernicious are amazing.

How many breweries do we have in this region now? You've discovered a half dozen in the past month it seems like! I still need to get up to ponysaurus!!

A quick look on the brewery map will tell you how many there are.

Pernicious is the one beer I can think of that actually tastes better in the bottle than from the tap. If I could get by wicked weeds ridiculous prices for a new brewery they would most likely be my favorite NC one.

This will give you every current brewery in the state
NC Breweries

they also have a map for up coming breweries

Great guys those two... had a few beers with them to talk about beer.

Sweet, Al. Thanks.
I just found two new places to investigate...

Another tasty ale from wicked weed

Soultree cider with Ginger.... no pics, but good and not too sweet for cider....

And the night just got better. If you don't fall in love with the subtle citrus side then the aroma will certainly get you. A++

Stamp of approval then?! Time to head down to the beer store and pick one or two up. They had an entire stack of 22s of that.

"I never met a Burial Beer I didn't like."

I will have to get Pernicious - can't remember if I had it or not :( I need to try more Wicked Weed, too.

This last week I have had the following. The Foothills Nov IPA of the Month was on clearance at Chatham Mill for $3.49 and the redeemer was $7.49, which is I guess better than what I paid previously. The Nov IPA was not my favorite at the time, but actually tasted better after two months :) The Redeemer was not as good as I remembered it. All photos are just off the internet :)

Went to Revelry Brewing last night and had a "Midnight Special" Oatmeal Stout and "Smoke Show" Smoked IPA. The Midnight Special was very similar to Founders Breakfast Stout - which I really enjoy. The Smoked IPA was a first for me, though. I curiously drank a pint and could never decide if I like smoky flavor in my beer. We'd just eaten tapas and paella and it was a bad match. Will try it again, though, and next time with some 'Murcan meat fresh off the grill.

Here was the "haul" as my 13-year-old would say.

I am drinking the Bitter Oats now - - I expected a bitter, but it is nothing like - it is as deep and hoppy as you can have and yet full bodied and complex. I am pretty impressed, I wasn't expecting much and had no idea what it was going to be.

I had the Oskar Blues Death By Coconut while I was shopping. They had it on tap at the place I went to.

It was pretty amazing - - three parts to it - -initial creamy hopiness, followed by a cheerwine like brandy flavor in the middle and it finishes with a coconut that is not too much and yet very nutty.

It can be done ;)

I bought the last one but can keep an eye out. Johnnys bottle shop sounded loaded.

And bloody grizzalopes f'ing Rock!
