What a great photo archive to help future restorers locate where these things dissolve.

Very pleasantly surprised how it turned out. A few issues but nothing I didn't expect. Quite frankly, much better than I expected. We have new front floor pans, rear crossmember, rear lower quarters and rockers already.

I'd guess these are the main spots these things decay. After it's sealed up, it'll never be a problem again.

Especially if you take proper care of it. That’s the thing, this was 25yrs of use not love and proper care. ;)

Nice work with the paint, Ian.

What paint did you end up using on these? They look great.

Hey Alberto, sorry I missed your post.

It got Omni epoxy primer and then Nason chassis black on top of that.

Cheers

So we are rebuilding the 3rd members on Friday and then chassis assembly begins.

To much rain today to transport the Troopy so we will do that on Thursday.

Rear axle housing all fixed up and in the paint booth now.

And that is about it for now folks, hope everyone has a good Christmas and gets lots of Cruiser goodies. :)

Cheers

No wife, no kids and good investments (aside from Land Cruisers).

I saw someone clicked "angry" on my post. I hope you didn't take offense by my comment because none was intended. I was am army brat most of my young life and have nothing but respect for those who serve. Just enjoying the build. :)

Cleaning it out so it can go in the booth for primer.

Check Instagram video for dirty undies we found in it. :)

So neat the crap you find

It’s in primer and back in the shop.

Now it is time for the rust to go bye bye. :)

So when we tore down the rear 3rd member awhile back several bolts busted on the carrier. It’s all good we got the bolts out and new bolts should be here any day. I also wanted to get some solid OEM pinion spacers as I really don’t care for a crush spacer. Those are coming with the bolts. That’s all we need to assemble the 3rd members which is the first step in our chassis build.

Cheers

Nothing to do with serving, just found the money thing a little personal, my problem, not your's, nor Tony's.

All good.

Did you ever find replacement pieces for the windshield frame, or will you just have to fab those?
