A sinkhole that opened last week in north Florida neighborhood expanded on Thursday, leading officials to urge residents from six nearby homes to evacuate. The sinkhole appeared to be about 50 feet wide and about 30 feet deep, said JoAnne Rice, interim chief at Gainesville Fire Rescue.

Not worried about my place. Too bad for the neighbors though. Sinkholes are common in N Central Florida. We are right on top of the aquifer.

There is a huge one down the road they have made into a state park.
