I'm in the process of moving from Fort Davis to Amistad Lake but should be done in time for an April or May BB run, we bought 5.5 acres on the lake so if anyone is heading down hwy 90 and needs a place to camp there is room!

Hopefully I will get my hands on a 08-13 200 by then but the market has been tough. If any of yall hear of one for sale let me know!

Do you still spend time in Port Mansfield?

BB is a bit intimidating for me but i trust yall know yalls way around and some will be keeping the exploring mild along with me.
It would be my first real outing in the LX and at BB so i need adult supervision.

Stay off of Oso Loop in the state park and you'll be fine beyond some pin striping.

The shark fishing there at the cut is still legendary, if that's your thing. I have caught some nice bulls in the surf and at the jetties but that's pretty common at most jetties. We still run PINS annually, it's always a fun and easy get away.

I wonder if I am thinking of a different port Mansfield, I'm thinking of the one that you go through Raymondville to get to. Is that the same one or are you thinking near corpus?
I would usually catch red and drums at port Mansfield. There is good gar fishing nearby city of Santa Monica, with some big catfish at times.

Same place, I am talking about the cut at the barrier island/jetties, we just get there via Padre Island National Seashore running the beach front down 60 miles from the island outside of Corpus.

Is that the same place you can get to by driving via south Padre island? Lots of sheep head there.

Yes, same cut, SPI is approaching from the south and PINS approaches from the north.

Guys, hate to do it, but How about a push to November for BB and a plan for F-burg or something a little more tame to get the girls involved....lame?

P.S. Porsche club is going to the Broadmoor that weekend in Coloradon Springs.

What are y'all suggesting if we go to Fredericksburg, the Hill Country Overland Route?

There is exactly one halfway challenging obstacle in the national park, it is approximately 2 carlengths long, and unless it has deteriorated you would clear just fine in high mode.

There is a metric s*** ton of easy open gravel roads to get around though. It really is more about the scenery and remoteness than the technical wheeling. And the stars. If a trip is planned I'd say some effort should be put into shooting for either new moon or a late moonrise. The night skies out there are not to be missed.

I thought there was a pretty good off road park ont he way down there. I could be totally wrong.

There are a few, Hidden Falls being the most prominent but I wouldn't recommend anything beyond a level two out there for a mildly modded Cruiser. Level three trails are where things start to get a tad hairy and 35's and good suspension travel should be standard.
