Good day guys.

I used to have a 96 TLC with a 4" man-a-fre lift and I was running 315's. No rubbing on that at all.

It crooooosing my mind to get a 100 series, but I need to run at least 315's or 35" with 17" wheels. I say I need 'cause I love the look of a tall vehicle. Can't stand running big tires with almost no lift.

I've seen IFS vehicles like FJ Cruisers, 4th Gen 4runners and Tacomas with such lifts and I wonder if they are made for TLC. I wanna stay within the TLC community on either an 80 or 100 series.

I did look and found only 2 and 2.5 and most people run 295's or 305's. Some 315" but to me no lift.

I do not wanna mess with body lift either only suspension.

Thanks for your help,

Well there is TONS of info here, pull up a chair and do some reading over the next several days.

Sounds like you want lots of lift, problem there is IFS. For the IFS to work well you need at least 60mm of down travel which limits how much you can lift the front via the torsion bars. You can normally get around 2" with the stock upper control arms. Change them out and you get another .5" or so.

Most of the guys here that run 35's and want zero rubbing run wheel spacers and .5" body lift for more clearance in the wheel well.

Bottom line is if you want a LC that you can jack to the moon the 100 is not the one for you. OR send your 100 to Slee with a check for $20k and get a SAS.

Uuuuuuuuummmmm the Slee sugestion is not gonna happen! hahahaaha.

I guess I will have to die with the 80 series.....

Too bad we didn't get the 105 series here in the US.

Thanks for your answer.......

I've seen some IFS 100 that look decently tall online

You can run 35's on stock suspension. You will have a rather full wheel well. They may rub in the back and on the frame in the front.

The 100 is limited to 2.5" of lift and a 12mm body lift with 35's. That is the most extreme you can go with tires and lift

I had a look at the FJ Cruiser which was only recently introduced here despite you guys having it for a few years. It's too friggin small. I mean i'm "only" 6' tall and in that cabin i'd be hitting my head and getting claustrophobic. Who gives a flying F if it can be lifted and have massive tyres when you need to be 5' 3" and skinny as a rake to fit in the damn thing!

im running 35's with 3" lift in the back and cranked up Tbars to about 2.5" with proper droop, no spacers or body lift.

i picked the thinest 35's MT i could find and ended up going with Hankook because they were considerably thinner than the Toyos and other MT tires. The only time i rub is if i turn the wheel all the way by mistake, other than that they are perfect.

but it comes with a free torn wife beater, chew stains, and a slight meth addiction.

I'm reading a lot or crap on here. I say crap because some present their recommendations as though they are "necessary". They are not necessary.

You do NOT need the below in order to run a 35-inch tall tire properly:

*Body Lift
*Aftermarket Upper Control Arm

There are a bunch of ways to run 35's on the 100 and without rubbing. You can do it with a STOCK suspension and some extra low-cost parts. You can do it with an aftermarket suspension and some extra low-cost parts. You can do it with enough down-travel left over.

It's BASIC and EASY to set up. If some want to add in body lifts and UCA's and whatever else...that's fine as its their truck. They should not however tell folks it it "necessary" in order to fit the tires.

Daggum! So how much does a lift like that run someone...? Seems a little overkill and more like something you'd put on a pavement princess and not a functioning offroad truck.

But my 2 cents on topic, if you're main thing is to get the tallest truck you can, stick with the 80, as you can get a couple more inches of lift. But the 100 can still very easily run 35" tires, it just may require a little more than just a lift to get the beefiest 35's. Slim ones will fit no problem (almost bought a set, but went with my 285's instead...they were on sale lol). After driving my friend's 80 for a week, I was relieved to go back to my 100, as it suits me better for every day driving

This would be horrible for true wheelers! You will end up on your side on the first tough trip! :D

If they offered this at 4-inches and had them in stock they'd sell a poopload of them.

That 14" lift is so ugly I can't stand too look at the LX.

And if you put a 14" IFS lift on a lexus, 99% of the people would laugh their asses off on the trail. Assuming your still alive.
