You should just buy my Q78 swampers and stock wheels. Once warmed up they ride pretty well. You can find a sweet spot for them on the highway.

I had thought about it when you originally posted them - Nick J pointed them out to me. I have Q78s for wheeling on my 60... I run 33x10.50x15 BFG AT/KOs for the street.

I'd probably get 33x9.50x15 BFG MTs if they still made them. I want something agressive/old school/milSpec looking but that will run on the street well. If I go Swampers it'll likely be the Special Service 34x9.50s...

I have 32x11.50s on the 40 now - too short and wide, yuch.

I run 33x10.50s on my 60 - a possibility, and maybe my best option but not as "skinny" as I'd like.

I really want a 35x10.50 MT... maybe it'll have to be the 34x9.50 Swamper or the Q78s (I guess about 35x10.50)... (see, the idea is growing on me already!)

38.5x11.0-15. The ultimate tall/skinny 15".

If you really want tall/skinny options then swampers are your best bet. Not many people want skinny road tires, so the radial selection is very slim.

Mark,
I went back and looked through my old papers to see what Buckshot Mudders I was looking at. They were the P78-15LT (32.7 by 10) and the Q78-15LT (35.5 by 11.5). They do not appear to be available any longer. Sorry for the obsolete data.

I would be interested if you could post a summary of all the tall skinny tires still available on the market and nominal pricing if possible. I like tall skinny too. My daily tires are BFG AT 33x9.5 with TSL 34x9.5 for trail tires. When these wear out, I would like to stay with tall skinny tires.

Thanks

Also there is a pic of a set on my old post from yesterday called 'parting the pig' which has been 'moved'.... to where? ... not sure, but I think you can still see them on that thread

it was moved to the parting out section in classifieds.

Hankook makes a very nice skinny all terrain 15 incher.......you might look at their website......

I've got a set of the Big O 33x9.5s. I think they're called MT, but they're not much more than AT. They're great for the $100 I paid for four including late-model steelies with clips. ;p

What about Swamper TSL Radials in 33x10.5? Tread width listed on Interco's site is 7.9". TSL / Radial :: Interco Tire

That appears to work out to 30x9...? I'm looking for at least 33... as I said in my 1st post.

So nothing new has come up. THe real tall skinny choices are:
34x9.50 Special Service Swampers
Q78 Swampers
33x9.50 BFG AT/KOs
33x10.50 BFG AT/KOs
33x10.50 BFG MTs

and I found this:
Kelly Safari MSR 33x9.50x15 (I have a smaller version of these on my M416 (235/85R16 that spec at about 32x9.2). See them below next to the 33x10.50 BFG AT/KOs on my 60.

Do these guys have them in stock? I noticed on their site they didn't have any prices or availability listed.

yes they do...talked to the guy awhile back and gets them in regualry...best to call..they are in canada but will ship state side at a resonable cost for a really heavy tire.

It appears that the Maxxis Buckshot Mudders are not available in something tall and skinny...

I'm trying to set a price & availability on the 9.0R16 XZL Michelins (probably WAY too expensive)

I think the 38.5x11.0x15 Swampers, while tall and skinny are too tall for the 40 I'm building (plus they are Boggers, which I don't want)...

These are also possible... 35x10.50R15LT SSR Swamper (but pricey at $220-ish)

So... still leaning towards the 33x9.50 AT/KOs (and the runner-ups: the 34x9.5 SS Swampers or the Q78s)...

Can anyone suggest a 16" size alternative (I'm under the impression that there might be more choices in 16" although I'm not seeing that in my research... metric sizes???)

Thanks
