I think we are a great community here on ih8mud.
We are always willing to help one another, no matter
So that's why I'm starting this thread.
Has anyone heard from mud member Coleman2347 (whom many of us know as Lee) or know of his whereabouts?
Here is a pic of his BJ40 ...
And here it is undergoing a recent repaint:
And included is this pic is the man I believe to be Lee himself:
BTW- All these pics come from this thread of his (where you'll also see a pic of his lovely partner and new baby):

Anyway ... For some time now, another concerned Mud-member (Edward531) and I have been discussing Lee's possible fate following the massive devastation dealt to his home city of Tacloban (in the Phillipines) by Typhoon Haiyan earlier this month.
Ted (Edward531) hold a responsible position in Manila and has lots of resources at his fingertips. But his searches of the lists of survivors, missing, and casualties have so far turned up nothing.
But did manage to find this:
So our ih8mud friend is not only a dedicated cruiserhead but it appears certain he is an ex USA marine. (I can't recall him mentioning that in any of his posts.)
What can we do?
Well I've thought about that and all I've managed to come up with for myself was to donate to the Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan appeal.
I think this is the best way we can all help and show we care..
I know there are serious disasters occuring throughout the world (and in this country too of course with our Christchurch Earthquake that people are still suffering the effects of today ... more than 2 years later). But this particular Typhoon stands out for me because of the scale of it's destruction and the fact that the victims were already impoverished by world standards in the first place.

PS. Sorry for posting non-tech in this forum ... but I think the circumstances warrant it.
PPS.There are plenty of alternative Aid Agencies to Red Cross and I was going to donate directly to a Phillipine-based Aid Agency but I think doing that would have subjected me to too much scam-risk. (Just something to beware of.. There are of course scumbags that will use any low-down trick for personal gain.)
We are always willing to help one another, no matter
- where we live
- what the differences are in our cultures
- what the differences are in our standards of living
- ... etc
