Lots of things to do started on the hood today so the cops look at it slightly less😅

Front diff is getting scanned so I can make a serious mount for it without position it by myself
Basically a 9.5” third member weight wise
Needed to go down a bit and maybe make it easier to get in and out, no rush since I’m saving up for RCV axles a locker and gears… probably 40s as well

Also have really been testing the suspension
Definitely needs a sway bar, handles like a big boat no question. Steering Ackerman angle is meh for the street works great when it’s sliding and off road so might make it adjustable

As far as accelerating on the street it’s a little too much squat. Not sure what it is but definitely not anti squat. Which is what it is supposed to be buttt It’s almost un drivable as it picks up a front tire if you get on the gas hard enough…which is sick butttt yeahhh😂
Needs to be adjustable if I want to drive it on the street.

Steering needs to have bungs for all the bolts so that it feels tight and doesn’t wear and get loose. Which it is now😅

Dual calipers brackets are designed going to cut them out of the thicker material

Wish I did the whole front end like this

Wide body teaser concept
Thinking I might want to do full steel just so I don’t have to mess with the complexity of mounts. But hard to get it to look right

Moved the coilovers out for a trophy truck mode
More lift less preload less lean
Preload = leaning

Finally ...sweet jumps!

Well after a lot of effort and exhausting every resource I have it now flys on the highway wayyy better😂 plus it can do sick jumps

So naturally I’m picking up some 42 iroks this weekend which will make doing fenders easier

And of course I ordered 5.29s so I can finally mount the front diff and get a step closer to 4wd
Really trying to figure out an affordable solution to have portals on the front and not the back.

My idea so far is either A custom gears in the t case which is expensive and tedious but would be ideal

Option B
Custom drop boxes one on the rear after the tcase to the rear
And 2 to turn into spindles for the front

Not pictured
I have the trans all the way apart now was a pita as it didn’t fit in the press to get the bearings off so I’ll probably order new bearings because these were beat off

Something about not losing and 42s
Have been busy on a sequoia rear bumper
Should have some time to do a regear and throw these on

Clean looking rear bumper for that thing.
also what souping up are you doing for the tractor you have in the shop? SBC swap with turbo for tractor pulls?

Appreciate it
Nothing yet😂

Gears are done very small whine when de accelerating
Gear pattern below
Backlash is around .005 +- .001
.006 I believe is factory spec
Drag guys run the smallest amount to minimize breaking stuff so that seemed like a decent idea if I wanna launch it up some walls of rock and dirt

5.29s 40s would be stock for overall gearing
Spins 42 on grass easier than it did with 37s
Granted gearing is wayyy better
Ground clearance obviously is better
Need to start on fenders and 4wd
V2 steering arms are a must now too
Currently it’s set up to slide off-road but handles like piss on the street
Will probably favor the street tbh with the ability to adjust bump steer
And maybe add some leverage to turn these tires
