Niiiiiicccee... Congrats! Hmmm, although I'm starting to think this might have been an elaborate ruse, to get the wife to let you pick up a cool 40 to go along with your 62.. Well played sir, well played.. Seriously, good to hear it didn't jump the border.

I've come back to this thread several times a day waiting/hoping to read this. i know that @reevesci will be happy to hear about this as well. Hope it's 100% intact.

It's good to hear a story with a happy ending.
I experienced a similar situation a few years back.
My son's Toyota mini truck was stolen from the student, (paid annual parking permit lot) at Long Beach State. The theft was reported and the campus, state police, refused to review the video of the area in question. They must have been too busy ticketing my other son in the same lot for the crime of backing into the parking space.
Truck was found two weeks later, in Compton, less the new battery and new tires. It was covered with two weeks of tree sap and leaves and was decorated with a slightly faded parking ticket. We were thankful it was not destroyed.
My wife and son went to city hall to retrieve the truck from the impound lot. "Your may have your truck after you pay the $200+ parking ticket and towing fee, and we don't accept checks." My wife protested, "But the truck was stolen! "Mam you don't understand, the truck was illegally parked."
My son learned several valuable, expensive, lessons. We still have the truck.

Congrats - hope it survived its vacation.

Great news, please do let us know the condition when you can..

I can't believe it, but I just got a call from police that my truck was found! Abandoned in La Mirada not far away.
I have no idea what condition it's in. The police say "undamaged" but who knows if the parts have been stripped off.
I'm heading to pick it up today, and I'll report back!

I am so happy!

Woop woop party party! Give the cops a years worth 'o donuts.

SWEET JESUS!!!! That's awesome news brother. Waiting for pics and a full report. Get all that anti-theft sh.. stuff installed and make a call to your insurance rep and get full coverage on that bad boy. Don't forget to add the coverage for custom parts. You'll sleep much better at night. Congrats again. This news made my entire week. Now... if I can only get that iPod back that was stolen from me 10-years ago... haha

Very good and bloody lucky, I am still waiting for such a call to pick up my zzr1400: had no theft insurance :crybaby:

I made a switch that switches the engine off after 5 seconds, just enough to be in the middle of the road in the attention zone.
Works nice when I forget it and drive away.

Great news! This thread has been good for brainstorming about different kinds of theft protection. Glad you got yours back!

Ugh, things like this are why I refuse to ever live in California or similar places with so much bureaucracy.

The crooks would have made it further but probably ran out of gas! That said CONGRATS!!!!! and I love my gas sucking pig.

Just picked up the truck, and it's back in my hands. Thank you all so much for the support!

The truck itself is alright, no damage. The wheels and tires are still on it as is the suspension.

The front bumper, winch, lights, my on board air system, optima battery, stereo, and recovery gear are gone. So is, most dishearteningly, @reevesci 's new rear swing out bumper and my matching spare.

The interior is torn up now as they stole the radio (stock) and all the wiring.

But at least I have it back.

Well, i am glad you got it back! I am sure those parts are on another truck or being sold on CL. i would scan the CL for those pieces.
TT rear bumper is unique. I am sure that person is cruising around with that rear bumper.
Congrats on finding it. But a loss of parts is still a loss and it hurts.
