Stevo....
do you have room for a winch with that cross member in the center?
Or...are you even thinking winch?

I think there should be enough room for a winch, I'm not planning on putting one in right now though.
If for some reason there isn't enough room later I don't have a problem with modifying the cross member.

I just didn't like the look without something there for now.

Well managed to get the welding and grinding finished on the front bumper last night, I even managed to get a coat of primer and spray on bedliner on the back side of it.

Another thing I wanted to do is to make a list of all of the things that I would need to disconnect in order to pull the drivetrain, and then for the body.

So far the Drivetrain list is:

Fuel lines
Radiator hoses
Heater lines (need to be replaced anyway)
Vacuum octopus + Air cleaner
Power steering lines
Electrical hookups (need help with finding all connections)
Unbolt motor mounts
Unbolt Transfer Case mounts
Remove Driveshafts
Remove shifters (Trans & T-case)

I know I must have missed a few things, so feel free to help me out with what I am missing.

Then for the Body:

Unbolt body mounts
Separate brake lines
Unhook E-Brake Cable
Disconnect fuel lines

There has to be more, just having a brain fart right now help out if you can.

I tried to make a list as well but I still missed a couple of things. Once you get it apart it'll be self explanatory, just make sure to hit everything with PB blaster a week before disassembly.

Yeah I figured as much, A list just helps me to visualize what needs to be done.
I am gonna start blasting things 2 weeks in advance. Dealt with too much hassle already.:grinpimp:

Well, for any of the people following along, I finished my front bumper tonight.

I drilled holes in the 1/2" tie ins to the frame, and managed to break a drill bit with a battery powered drill.

It was one of the dewalt 36V drills, man they have some torque. Almost broke my wrist in the process.

Torching is easier, but drilled holes look much cleaner.

Also I found a np203 in a local pick and pull and debating putting a doubler in. What do you guys think? Its pretty pricey to buy those adapters.

This site is so bad for my bank account:D, after reading Freds40 builds a 60 again at work, I think I might want to put a FF Corporate 14 Bolt in the rear of my cruiser when I put the diesel in.

It doesn't seem too bad fab wise, they are not much $$$ and they are a big increase in strength.

Not crazy about the upper section, the lower definitely has potential though. Solid construction either way!

The only thing I regret about the bumper is the way the top ties into the bottom, it looks a little weird, but I have to say it does look better in person than the pictures show. I'm going to put some more material on the joints of the top part and try to smooth it out some, which I think should improve the appearance some.

If I have to modify it in the future to fit a winch, I might change the top up a bit.

Ideas for Final stage of Bronson:

Drivetrain:
First Gen 5.9 Cummins
NV4500HD
Splitcase Adapter
1987 Splitcase, possibly 1989 FJ62 Case

Axles:
Front FJ62, Longfields & Lockright
Rear FF Corporate 14 Bolt (modified for Passenger Side Offset) & Detroit
4:11 Gears front and rear
37" IROKs

Anyone see any issues other than $$$ / Anyone tuned in?

Its a running and driving truck, the owner was a really nice guy who needed to make some space in his lot. He didn't want to let it go but was happy that it would be brought back to life in a new project.

So the numbers:
