, Are you running a rear sway bar?

I ran one for a while and then ran it for a while with out....
I could find no real BIG difference with or with out.
I do however run a front with quick release. I can tell a BIG difference when its on or off on the front.
My rear sway is still hanging on the wall of my shop for the past few years.

NOW GET BACK TO WORK STEVO!!!

Please tell me you are dropping this cummings in your 60!!!!!:D:D:D

You know it! :grinpimp:

Its not going to make it in this summer, I don't have the budget yet.
I plan on doing all the power mods and collecting all the parts I need for the swap over the next few months and then over the winter pulling the engine from the Dodge, and prepping the drivetrain to go in.

Just Heard from the guy I am buying the truck from, it should be delivered friday morning, its been a bit of a wait, but in the end it will be totally worth it.

Yeah, I was planning on buying some stiff ones, also I wanted to ask, Are you running a rear sway bar?
Nope, and I didnt really notice a difference when i swapped to chevy springs handling wise it still drives straight and true

Well thats good to hear, I have a swaybar for the rear, so if I think I need it, I have one. But in the meantime I'm just gonna run the fzj80 axle the way I have it now.

Well if you want mine when I do my diesel swap, I'd be willing to part with it. Its all set up to be run in a SOA cruiser.

 only if I had the budget :frown: lol

You never know, your budget might be better next winter/summer.
It sure would be nice to have a full floating rear axle though already set up to bolt right into your soa cruiser no changes necessary.

Possibly, in either case I'm going to be running it in my truck for a while.
Its going to depend on how much I put into the axle, as of right now I still need to buy some calipers and rotors.

But if you do buy it, if you want we could install it over at the shop. and you could drive home on it.

Whats up with all this fooling around? Why haven't you started the drivetrain swap yet?:flipoff2:

Sometimes I wish I just went for the FZJ80 rear instead of my 60 rear for the width, but oh well. Hindsight is 20/20.

I'm sorry about the fooling around, but the truck isn't at the shop yet, its still in Staten Island. Its getting delivered tomorrow.

I'm not going to swap it in right away though because I don't have the rest of the drivetrain I need.

Still Missing: Transmission, FF 14 Bolt, Longs, Adapters, & other nonsense.

I'm gonna have a fun summer and enjoy the SOA for a while, and then when the wintertime comes I'm gonna get busy.

I haven't run the 80 axle yet, but it wasn't too hard to swap under, also pretty cheap. probably a lot less than your FF 60 axle. I'm glad I got it.

Johhny,
When I do the swap the FF FZJ80 rear will be going up for sale, there are some people who are interested but I could put you in line.

 Steve, I was just giving you a hard time. So what is your revised plan, keep the new frame uninstalled until you put the new drivetrain in or are you going to put the body on the new frame and drive it that way until you can get the new drivetrain ready?

I'll be keeping my 60 rear end, too much invested now, besides, its got the :grinpimp: factor.

Revised plan is to go ahead with with drivetrain and body swap, run it for the summer, while at the same time doing some power mods to the Cummins.
Once all mods are done and I have the rest of parts I need I'll pull the LC motor and the Cummins, assemble the new drivetrain, and drop it in.

That sounds pretty simple right?;)
