Hi,
Anyone pull their steering wheel lately? What extractor did you use?

looks like someone already smacked the threaded end with a hammer.
a bar type puller works fine, soak the splines in a penetrant, get some tension on the puller bolt then whack the end of the puller bolt with a hammer
you may need to chase the threads also before threading in the bolts

Before I bought a puller I use to sit in the seat and use my legs. I live in the Southwest so rust was not a concern. I now have a number of different pullers. One thing I do is leave the nut still threaded on a couple of turns. Once the wheel comes loose there is not surprises. They can pop loose very violently. I had an old rusty cruiser from the Pacific Northwest. The steering wheel was still in great shape. On that one puller was not breaking it loose. It was sitting outside in the Southwest. I just left the puller on and let it set a few days. When I came back it had broken loosen. The larger temperature changes in the desert did the trick.
