I was estimating what I need for front steering work and found a "surprise", at least it was for me.
Looks like Previous Owner installed a second Steering Stabilizer.
Have anyone seen such things? What is the second one I have?

those were quite common back in the day .instead of fixing the truck right some people added another stabilizer or went with those if the factory 1 gave out .

If running big tires they do help. Preventitive maintenance thing. Actually can go triple should you choose to do so. FWIW I would replace the origonal, maybe worn out by now...

I've got to disagree. One good one is enough. If you're finding yourself needing more than one it's a band-aid on another problem, probably bad tires.

I don' t have one at all on my latest rig with 35" treadwright retreads. It runs great.

On my previous rig I took off the hokey bolted-on one that you're showing there, fixed the suspension, TREs, leaf-spring bushings, center arm, new tires, and put one good one back in the stock location. It works great too.

I'm running both. My stock one works fine now, but I like having the extra one also.

With 33x12.50 tires and manual steering, I needed all eye help I can get. Now with 33x10.50 BFG
ATs it may no longer be necessary, but I'm not inclined to pull it off to compare.
