On my Redarc BCDC it needs a "vehicle on" wired input. I used an "ignition on" circuit to feed that sensing wire. This is on my F250 that has upfitter switches (switch is ignition on controlled).

Do you run AUX (engine off, power on) a lot? If not, I'm not sure it matters if your sensing circuit is engine on versus AUX on. If you do run a long time with AUX on, then you could always install a switch in your circuit to manually isolate the DC-DC sensing wire.
 
I have one of these on my 80 and it auto detects when the alternator starts charging.

Yeah, that is what I looking for "vehicle on" or similar on the LC200. I do not use the AUX very often but the other day while working on the window I had it on for some time also I did not realize I had the head lights too so managed to kill the battery. At this point one option is to install a Victron BatteryProtect which I can set a voltage cut off. Which even with a "vehicle on" might not be bad idea.

You probably have the "smart" version which as I noted does work as one wants for this application. I am using the Orion 12/24-20

You probably have the "smart" version which as I noted does work as one wants for this application. I am using the Orion 12/24-20

On the LC, I am charging an ECOflow off of a cigarette socket I installed in the back of the trunk. It is wired directly to the main battery. I purchased a Victron Battery Protect 65amp module but I have yet to install it. I just try to remember to turn off the cigarette socket if I stop for a long time. I know this is a smaller draw than a 12v to 24v charger, but I have not had a situation where I have drained my battery yet, knock on wood.

I also carry a NOCO jump pack so I can jump start my LC or someone else's truck. I figure that is good insurance just in case I drain the battery.

like Sam Adams at a 10:00 am work lunch, the NOCO jump pack is "always a good decision!"
 
I put a solar panel on my hood (purchased from Slee but can find them all over the internet) which keeps my starter battery always full and trickle charged. Before that I would wipe out a battery if parked at an airport for weeks.
 
Will a flat bed roll back hauler with my 200 series on it be able to off-load it in to my garage thru an 8' tall door opening? :hmm:

Put it in neutral and push it in from the threshold.

I’m pretty sure “no” is the answer otherwise no matter how much you air down. I could be wrong though.

my truck in 'low' on 35s with a small ahc lift and a roof rack that adds about 2" fits in a garage marked 6' 8".

I’d give it a shot with some needle nose or regular pliers with some electrical tape on their grip surface if you’re wanting to reuse them. If you’re not, forgo the tape and have at it!

I can get them to turn with a straight blade screwdriver but it starts to mangle the plastic. If they’re not oem and I don’t have a tool, I’d prefer to just put it back to oem.

I figured. That’s why I recommended pliers. Two points of contact, possibly greater surface area.
