Hi,
does anyone know the total height of a lx570 with a rooftop cargo box (~18 in). I'm thinking of getting one, but concerned about parking garages in road trips. Any experiences? Would appreciate your insights.
Also thinking about hitch mounted cargo carrier, how has your experiences been with that?
Have a 2016 lx570 stock height.

Regards
Google streetview is your friend. My first check is google maps in street view to see what height a parking garage has when I book a hotel (if it only has garage parking). With a roof box, you will likely need 7.5 feet clearance to be safe.

That doesn't sound right. When I was at stock height, I had about 3-4" clearance between the stock rails and the top of my 7' garage door. Now that I have BP-51's installed, it's close to an inch.

Maybe you meant to say 8.5'?

Good call. You had me questioning it so I just went out and measured.

2" lift, 32.7" tires, prinsu roof rack, yakima larger roof box (15" tall) it will clear 8 ft ceiling height by a couple inches. I hope that helps.

Got a hitch mounted unit, CURT 60x24in folding. It's quite beefy and well built, like it so far. Do folks go offroading with this installed?

I have an aftermarket rear view camera installed (with a wolfbox 900 mirror camera) at the license plate (besides the original one, which wasn't the sharpest). Need to move it to under the rear spoiler, but not sure how I will pass the wires through, anyone done this before and can advise?

Thanks all for the replies, appreciate it

Also is there a hit h stabilizer that can work with the receiver on the lx570, not sure if the clamp style one will work as the receiver doesn't seem to have a 'lip' for it to catch on

I saved these photos from another thread a while ago. I have not gotten around to making one myself, but this is the configure you would look for.

The lock on my 2009 LC driver door suddenly stopped working today. When using either the button on the door armrest or the key fob I cannot get the lock to engage. All three other doors lock and unlock as expected. Even when trying to manually push the lock button (right next to the door handle) into the locked position it seems stuck. Any clue what might be happening here? Did some kind of spring or small actuator possibly fail in there?

I remember one time accidentally hitting the rear door child safety lock switch and then racking my brain about why the doors in the back wouldn't unlock, but I don't think that's possible for the front doors, correct?

TIA.

There are threads here to help with replacing the lock actuator.

Found the actuator part assembly, thanks!

One more SQOD - Does anyone know the difference between these two parts for replacing the interior door grip cover on the driver door?

They are both described as Driver Side Door Assist Grip, LH, Cover

Look exactly the same to me but if you can pop off the old, most Toyota parts have the number on the back side. I've done that a couple times when I could not find what I was looking for with interior parts.

I dropped my keys somewhere in my office...not even sure where but don't think it was anything but carpet. As you can see the alarm button went for a ride...I plan to go back and look, took me an hour to notice since I wasn't driving it at the time. Assuming it's gone...whats my fix?

Will the factory roof rack on a 2008 fit a 2015?

Also, if anyone is willing to part with theirs I’d be interested.

Something like this. You did not state the year so check with your local dealer to confirm the part number.

As luck would have it I retraced my steps this morning and there it was...survived the weekend. Button back in place and all is good.

I've been chasing an annoying rattle underneath for awhile, which I finally located to be inside one of the cats, the right front one. I guess the honeycomb has come loose, and it's gradually getting worse as it slowly deteriorates.

So... Should I just have a local exhaust shop weld in an aftermarket replacement? Looks like the OEM part is ~$1200, ouch.

Does NH have emissions testing? Will go a long way to determine if you use OEM replacement or not.

If you do go aftermarket, make sure it is very high quality. Cheap chinese junk has made it into the catalyst industry as well, and while it may work short term they don't have a good track record for durability.

They only plug into the OBD port to check for codes. If all is clear then it's a pass.
