After much search (directly on MUD and via Google pointed at MUD) I have not found much info on replacing body mount bushings. Is it worth the effort? When does it become necessary? (pics related; they are the fronts, rears look better) And is this one of those 'while you're in there, replace all the bits' cases? Replace them all, or only the skunky ones? How many horse powers do you gain by doing this/how many more MPGs does this add? etc. TYIA for insights.

Great question. I've been wondering too as I'm noodling on adding a body mount lift. Would be the perfect time to replace these. It's probably one of those things whether the juice is worth the squeeze. A set of these is pretty dang pricey. If you have high miles/age on the vehicle, say over 150k, and you intend to keep the vehicle for a long time thereafter, probably worth replacing. These bushings are directly responsible for isolation of the body to the chassis so could see some NVH improvements. Then again, my LX rides so dang good already, I don't know that better, is better?

Does the cigarette lighter near the shift lever up front turn off with the engine off? E.g. would there be any battery drain issue leaving an external CarPlay screen plugged in to that cigarette lighter plug?

It does indeed turn off when the engine is not running.

Your searches didn’t turn up anything because replacing them is not normally necessary. They all look like yours after a while and still function fine. It would be a loss of about 4mpg and 50HP if replaced.
Thank you, my friend are science and accurate. In my custom LC200 GPT calculation environment (spreadsheet) I find that adding certain stickers will offset this Body Mount Refresh Performance Loss (MBRPL). Further, I will science document a bunch of stuff, do the refresh, and finally start my own controversial 90-page MUDThread, as to secure my legacy for posterity. (Or I'll just not do it)

From what I see in other car forums, vehicle weight can have an impact (literally). That is to say, all of the sprung weight hanging off of the body. Add to that hundreds of miles of washboard at irresponsible speeds, way too punishing rock gardens, and the general truck-twerking experienced in the dirt, and these things probably get more tired, faster. I will probably not go for a body lift (unless you have some reasons to do it that apply to my use cases), but rubber bushings wear out on all kinds of other sports on our trucks, for many of the same reasons, so my 80-IQ postulation is that the same applies to these bushings, too.

After you posted originally a quick google showed there is an Australian company selling full replacement kits out of OEM like rubber. I’m sure Australians fall victim to useless products as much as any others, but also they tend to be at the forefront of useful LC mods/service for off-road.

“….as to secure my legacy for posterior. “

Fixed that sentence for you.

Please do share link...although with Mr. T bits, anything sold as OEM-like makes the skepticism sensors go off for me. Next move: construct boolean search for .au/.nz forum sites for people doing the hard work of fighting it out already.

Not too expensive, but didn't look like they'd ship to USA.

I’d have to be 100% sure my mounts are completely fragged and not be able to get Genuine Toyota or Aisin or whoever makes them for big T before I’d consider installing knock-offs in this application.

I can't find where there's an example on how to change the ventilated seat filter on our trucks (88921-60010). Can anyone find the thread? TIA

It’s really simple! Unbolt all four seat bolts and tip the seat forward. You can miss it. No need to unplug antything.

Is this filter to filter out the farts?

Where is that on the maintenance schedule?

I pulled and cleaned these filters pretty easily without unbolting the seats. Adjust the seat up and forward and you can get to them. Also a good time to clean out the body cavity underneath the carpet there too. I found the PO's 1/4" socket wrench in there.
