I got a random bag of push clips off Amazon. It has 100s of these plugs in several sizes. It was $10 perhaps?

My grab bag had exact doppelgängers in it, but not every one might. The factory ones work a lot better than the grab-bag specials, I’ve found.
Among the list of stuff I keep spares on the shelf..
Would you plug this? The tire is new, with less than 500 miles on it. I know Discount Tire won’t plug it because it’s in the shoulder, but I have my own patch kit. No I didn’t get road hazard because it was the same cost for 5 tires as buying one new tire.

Pretty sure I picked up that a few yesterday. It’s not actively leaking, but I won’t be surprised if I start to lose one psi every day or two as the tire flexes and the puncture wears the hole a bit.Is it actually leaking?
If it was, yes I'd plug it. Have done it numerous times with no evidence of problems caused to the tire carcass, on both big tires for 4x4s and for passenger cars.
If I were getting anywhere near the load limits of a tire it would be a different story.
I wouldn’t run it as spare. I’d want to know that it was up to task and know when it wasn’t asap. If I didn’t trust it to run day to day, that would answer my question of whether I wanted it as my spare.Pretty sure I picked up that a few yesterday. If I patch and keep it I’ll likely leave it as the spare and not plan to run it in my rotation unless I tear a tire on a trail. That said if I did have to run it on the rear I would be close to the load limit when towing (roughly 2700# out of a 2910# limit)
i got a big box of push pins of various sizes on amazon. comes in handyI break those things every time I'm under the hood (LX, so the big bay covers need to be removed to do anything). Now the plastics just sit there with only a couple push clips holding them down. Gotta cut down my engine bay covers so I can just leave them in place.
are you SURE it punched all the way thru? it might be a blind hole. unscrew it and look for air bubbles in soapy waterWould you plug this? The tire is new, with less than 500 miles on it. @linuxgod as @customcruiser mentioned head back to the shop and ask to add the tire certs. I know first hand that you can have them add the warranty well after the purchase date, just takes talking to the manager if the front desk crew says no.Go back to Discount tire and ask if you can add the road Hazzard.
Or patch and use as your spare
Absolutely, it’s between the tread. That’ll be plugged for the life of the tire most likely or you may have to plug it one more time down the road.Would you plug this? driver side. looks like battery hold down bolt for other markets?
Not sure. I haven’t removed it yet. I’m not sure how thick the tire is but unless it’s a 1/2” or maybe 3/4” screw I’m betting it did.are you SURE it punched all the way thru? it might be a blind hole. unscrew it and look for air bubbles in soapy water
Where does the shoulder start? You might at least ask DT if they would plug it?Would you plug this? The tire is new, with less than 500 miles on it.
