Is it the same for all inputs? If its streaming from your phone, you may just need to increase the volume setting on your phone, but if FM is also quiet, then you have a problem. My FM input is stupid loud.
It is, a direct input like CD or Aux is of better quality than the radio, but only marginally. When my phone is hooked up through the Aux port, the volume on the phone is maxed out. Using the same equipment on my 2000 BMW 540i, I can barely get the volume to 25% before it gets too loud.

Not expecting to be wowed by the sound quality, but would like to hear what I'm trying to listen to!

ApexRex, I have noticed my radio volume is a little less at max in my '10, either with radio or bluetoof, the 6cd player decieded to quit a while ago so I just figured that the radio is on its way out also. Hmmmm. Mitch

The 4.88 is not a combination that's used in many 2016+ regears as it's such a dramatic ratio change. I suspect you might indeed be hitting a top speed limiter as governed by the transmission output shaft speed.

Stock LCs have a top speed limit of 130mph. A 4.88 regeared from 3.307 is a 1.47 change. 130mph / 1.47 = 88.4MPH. Suspiciously close to your 89mph flux capacitor issue.

4th gen Tacomas experience this too when re-gearing aggressively to a 5.29 (from 3.9). Top speed of 113mph drops to 83mph.

A 2016+ LC should generally be regeared to 3.9s.
I regeared to take the weight of an LRA 40gallon tank, sliders, front bumper and winch.

I'm all for re-gearing. That's just a heck-of-a-lot of gear for the 8-speed. This might help.

When I connect to my phone through bluetooth or cord, I do not need to adjust my phone volume buttons at all. This is with an iPhone.

Does anyone know the part number of the little rubber bump stops on the back of the third row seats? Mine have been destroyed somehow.

If I'm gonna replace the wheels on my 200, should I do the TPMS sensors? They've never been done.
I have a 2013 lx. Just got new tires and wheels (18 Land Cruiser oem wheels) Michelin defenders and replaced five Tpms (denso) from Amazon. Discount tires installed the Tpms with no extra charge.

2008 here as well. Best, full spectrum sound I get is from XM (subbed); even better than factory-burned CDs which I assume are over 128kHz. With AUX, I jam source volume nearly all the way up, and regulate with head unit. Make sure all the balance levels are center/center. (captain obvious) The RDS road noise adaptive thing never worked on mine. FWIW, 2008 is one of a few strange/early years (up to 2012, before 2013 refresh); not all models have all features, which I think changed in later years when they went to more 'all features are standard.'

That's exactly my setup. Source volume all the way up, all speakers balanced/centered, all DSP features disabled/off. There is almost no sound from the woofers in the doors, and what sound is coming from them is hollow and staticky. The Mids and tweeters are also hollow sounding like they are not getting their full source volume.

I had the amp rebuilt but no change. I don't know the system well enough yet but there doesn't logically seem to be any other component of the system. Head unit, amp, speakers, wiring. I do not have a DVD player, so that can't interfere. Maybe a loose connection on the head unit? I wouldn't think something was shorting, I'd expect to then either hear nothing or random popping/sound going in and out. This is just, flat all the time. I'm using a $30 Anker bluetooth speaker in the mean time and it performs better than what the stock system is currently doing.

Like I said before, I'm not trying to go win an audio competition, I'd just like for my stock setup to be functional. I cannot believe that in 2008 it would have come from the factorty this way. Maybe like, 1978, but even then...

Still puzzled.

I can solve your problem with two words:

BOOM BOX.

Dude I freaking SOLVED it. Someone along the way mentioned the secret diagnostic menu on the head unit. Well, I did that, and lo' n' behold there was a fault on the Audio. I cleared the fault, rechecked, no fault. Restarted the car, audio sounds normal! The CD audio is definitely the clearest, FM sounds good too. Aux is still weak even with the device audio all the way up, but at least I'm getting somewhere.

Outstanding. MUDpower never disappointing.

Alas, all of this brings me back to my lament about the over-electronification of modern vehicles. I'd give up power windows and more to get a 200 which depended on 80% fewer lines of code. Knobs and wires in exchange for simpler self-fix-ability. I once had a dream (literally) that BMW made a modern model M3 with all the electronics removed, save the engine management goodies, and a manual gear box. But I fear that the future holds Chinook-based recovery of Cybertrucks for firmware issues or things someone in a 100-Series would have tree-shaded to resolution. Brave New World

EDIT: if anyone remembers that post from a guy upset about LC stuff breaking, and why owning this bullet-proof forever vehicle requires so much maintenance and repair, please point me to it. Cannot find anymore. I think I am ready to craft a response; a personal exhortation, which is not designed to dissuade or persuade.

Not that I think it's worth the energy.

I read that thread before and I get the frustration, however, I have been a Land Rover guy for years. I currently have, uh... several... of them (actual number not disclosed for plausible deniability). I have old ones and "new" ones - new being from 2006-2013, not that new new. In the past year I had 3 of them lose an engine. 2 of which were according to internet lore the "most reliable engines LR ever produced" well, I managed to have them die on me. 1 of those was my daily driver and the other was my wife's daily. We decided to exit the insanity so she got a Suburban and I got the 200. Don't get me wrong, I still have my old ones and love them, but they are as stated - without electronics and crazy things to go wrong.

To come back to that thread and why I brought up my LR ownership, it's all relative.

Does your wife know what she’s missing? 😉
