How are your transmission and/or motor mounts? While it is shifted electronically, there is still a mechanical linkage. If releasing the brake causes the trans to take the load holding the vehicle it could, in theory result in this movement being translated up to the shifter?

@OregonLC I’ll take a look. How hard is it to get a good look at the transmission mount? Never looked for it.

Could it simply be some slop somewhere with the pawl?

I suppose there could be something internal from the park position that is translating to the lever. The only thing I've experienced is a firm lever and thunk when it's all bound up, no vibration or shake.

Trans mounts are easy to see, but to test them you'll need to apply some force. Either have a trusted driver hold the foot brake while shifting D to R and look for movement or use a floor jack carefully and slowly.

I've noticed the same thing a few times in my 2013 recently. Will be interested to see what you find

As tough and rugged the 200 series is I’m confused on the decision to use the wimpiest interior dash panels. The center panel is already showing wear after 10k miles and 10 months.

How are y’all preventing or repairing this and are their better replacement panels out there?

This vehicle is far too new for me to solve this problem with a rattle can.

Agreed. Toyota cheaped out on center console plastics.

I'm OCD and never set anything on my console. I wont even put a sweating drink in the cupholder. You must have something scratching that area because mine looks new.
I’m super OCD. I swiffer dusted the piano black plastic today before a trip today.

What's your go-to lube for squeaky bushings/suspension?
If you’re talking about UCA’s I use this stuff. The long straw makes it easy to get into tight places and just the smallest amount does the trick. I’ll follow up with a couple runs over my driveway gutter thingy… a couple spirited goes should get it into the bushing.

This should probably work on all the bushings, it does on my SPC UCA’s. Those things are nice and all but, holy lord, do they get squeaky.

a cell phone was sat there for about 50 miles, I saw the damage and it’s never gone back.

I’m like you m, I stay on top of keeping a tidy cabin, an attribute my wife has come to not only love but take part in.

Seeing blue puff of smoke from the exhaust every time I do one specific action. 2021 with 15k miles.

Truck is backed into the garage. I pull the truck out of the garage, forward, onto my driveway with a slight decline. Put it in park, handbrake and turn off. When I restart again, I see about 2 seconds of blue smoke.

Usually this is on a cold motor, so I’m thinking the rings aren’t seated well enough and are letting a tiny amount of oil sneak by. Thoughts?

I think that's an over-rich cold-start condition and not oil. Land Cruisers stink when cold. I've seen it in that scenario in both the 100 and 200. I purposefully try not to short-cycle it like that out of concern that the excess fuel may be acting as a solvent to the cylinder walls. Probably not a real concern.

It’s probably not oil at 15k, but you can run your finger around the inside of the tailpipe when cold. If your finger gets dirty it’s a rich fuel mix, if it comes out oily then see a dealer

What is the added metal bracket screwed to the right side of the console?

There is one on both sides of the console and they are these molle panels made by ZR tactical. They come with some screws but I had mine attached with nuts so they will hold up better. My wife likes to attach a bag to it with a carabiner with stuff we keep for trips like snacks and stuff and my side holds my PTT when not in use, we’ve mounted knives to them as well from time to time.

If RCV Heavy Duty Cv's fit 200 series with Tundra Lca/ Uca Why dont they sell a set to fit with standard Lca/ Uca ?.
The RCV axles that fit on the 200 with a Tundra conversion are a direct OEM replacement for the Tundra. Over 100,00 Tundra were sold yearly between 2012 and 2020. Only around 3000 Land Cruisers were sold annually during that same time period. So the Tundra market is 33 times bigger than the Cruiser market. There is just no money in RCV making axles for the Land Cruiser with OEM suspension. These numbers are specific to the US of course and RCV is likely focused on the domestic market only.

Hello,

I read the new members guide/directory and am having trouble finding an alternator replacement write up. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.

Thank you!
