Guys, the GVWR is the demonstrated weight at which Toyota proved to comply with DOT requirements. It is also the basis for the performance specs. Don't get hung up on it. Tires and suspension and 8K is no problemo. It's just a number.

Of course, lighter is always better from a performance standpoint. But you also need to have a capable rig and the combo of gear and armor has a weight penalty. Learn the performance envelope of your truck, develop a sense of mechanical empathy, and don't try to drive it like a Civic in traffic.

34.53" - 33.2" = 1.33 / 2 = .665" larger in radius. Or just over 5/8ths of an inch more clearance all around the fit the tire.

Terra Grapplers are a fine choice! I had them on my previous rig and they had great manners on and off-road.

The specs look good on paper anyway. How do you like the ATW3's compared to the Terra Grapplers?

Has anyone else noticed the throttle seems to be remapped when in 4LO? I spent a lot of time in 4LO this past weekend and kept thinking I needed to move my seat forward. I am now absolutely convinced the throttle position is remapped to be less sensitive when in 4LO. In other words, more push is required...or am I crazy? (SQOD!)

Yup! Very much so. Helps a lot when doing technical crawling, or trying to get a heavy towed load placed just right.

Want to replace my current OEM wheels and decrease my unsprung weight at the same time.

Yes and I personally hate it. There are times when I want to bump it up a ledge or give it more gas when I know the surface will be loose, but the electronic throttle modulates it way too much. It's actually very frustrating and one feature that I would skip in a heartbeat.

Well, my first night drive after installing my "EYE OF MEGATRON" Hikari LEDs. I had 4 people flash me in 5 miles on a country highway. I take that to mean I need to adjust them down. Any tips, or just feel it out like I do other vehicles? This is on a 2008 LC.

There are bolts to adjust the headlight angles. If I remember correctly its a 10mm.
Is your truck lifted? I use a socket and flexible extension arm on an impact/drill. Overkill for sure, but it takes literally 1 second to make the large adjustments needed after lifting the truck.

The problem is that you put them in a reflector housing which is not meant for LED or HID replacements. You need a projector style headlight to get anywhere close to aiming the headlights. You’re likely also breaking the law where you live which could mean a ticket, so if possible I’d return those. Not to sound harsh, but clearly they’re already blinding other drivers and will continue to do so.

I'm not sure about that, mcgaskins. I think the problem is similar to this post in this thread. I have the same setup that @Reckless has - he's got many pictures in the thread. No need for me to duplicate information. He had to adjust his down slightly as well.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t adjust down as you likely should if you’re going to keep the LEDs, but adding a much brighter bulb into a reflector housing is never a good idea. There’s a reason why car manufacturers use projector housings in the vast majority of LED/HID applications and have since the mid nineties. Very few use reflector housings like the new CRV with LEDs, but that housing was designed explicitly for that use. There are many forums dedicated purely to lighting, so there is more info out there than anyone could read but simply put jamming more lumens into a housing that isn’t made to handle/aim them properly doesn’t do anyone any good.
