I'm actually a pretty small guy, but it's only when I get out, I seem to have a habit of shoving the door with my forearm. I solved the problem my just setting all 3 memories to the same position.

Ah. My tendency is to open it with my leg/foot...so my door speaker area gets all marked up...but no button-bumps. :)

One alternative is to leave spots 2 and 3 blank (I think they blank out if you disconnect the battery).
I just use spots 1 and 2. 1 for driving...2 for sleeping in the back (so it pushes the seat all the way forward and seat-back up).

I manage to bump the memory buttons getting out at least once a week, but I programmed all three the same as well...

Mileage, details?

191k. Water pump finally went. I think this is the first time but don't have complete records from PO. Replaced it and the pulley and belt too. Im sure starter will be next so I'm looking for best price on a new one. Also crack getting bigger around radiator boss so attempting to patch it soon like other member did when I get time.

PO also replaced fuel pump assembly and hatch latch assembly. Both under 100k according to Toyota records. The failures are adding up. Hopefully nothing else for a while.

KDSS/Sway bars are gone so I assume that failed too.

Got an odd front end clunk when articulating off road. Seems to be coming from front diff/CV area. Different from the highway stop and go drivetrain slop clunk, which I also have.

Well, my first night drive after installing my "EYE OF MEGATRON" Hikari LEDs. I had 4 people flash me in 5 miles on a country highway. I take that to mean I need to adjust them down. Any tips, or just feel it out like I do other vehicles? This is on a 2008 LC.
"Eye of Megatron" FTW!

Anyone utilize the space inside their spare wheel?? Seems like one could store tow straps, WD40, or other fluids/parts here.

I hate wasted space and am loaded up inside.

Emergency fuel storage via a nice OEM BMW accessory tank? Not sure this would fit over your mount though, nor would it be easy to get at.

Might work for those with the stock under chassis spare?

Found this on fourwheeler.com. Their product link is dead. Cannot find any other info on it. Probably never made it into production.

Think about tow straps and when you might need them.

-You need them when you are stuck or bogged, right? Buried in sand or mud.

-Now imagine trying to lower your spare to get the rope you need to get “unbogged.”

No worky. :hillbilly:

My spare is on the rear bumper ...like the pics above

Considering just getting a drybag with carbiner and stuffing it in the wheel. Not as elegant a solution as I was hoping for but achieves what im after.

I've been getting a lot of sand/dirt buildup inside my wheels (mixing with brake dust) causing bad vibrations. I'm talking pounds of sand layering the wheels. The shaking gets really violent and the car wash is 1.5 hrs from my job site. My question is has anyone proven which kind of lube you can apply beforehand to prevent dirt from sticking? I've heard of people using WD-40, baby oil, cooking spray, even diesel. What works without causing other problems with traction, brakes, or fire hazard?

I have used WD40 on my motorcycle rims and it works well - but I ride a 1200GS so not chasing showroom shine - just easier to clean at the end of the season when I do the annual wash.

I’m in Orange County CA for a week or so and have some time to kill. Anyone know if TRD here in Costa Mesa is open to the public and if they have any kind of showroom?
