Never mind!
I found a manual online. The Toyota site wouldn't let me look at it but I found another place.

Here's one I like... Take a look and see what you think...

What is this blue plug for in lift door?

Not sure, but I wonder if that is the wiring connection for the motorized actuator on the LX version.

Probably could be.

Are you relocating your camera?

As of now I am not relocating the camera. But, I would like to add a another camera on the swing arm or up on the spoiler and switch views depending on setup I am running. I think it is do-able.

I'm taking my 08 into Toyota next week for new spark plugs / replacing the radiator other 120,000 mileage stuff (fluids). I want to address this stuff before traveling to Utah / Colorado in August. Anything else I should be adding to the list? Currently sitting at 109,000 miles. Water pump has been replaced and I'm not going to address the starter at this point.
thanks

Get the injectors flushed. Or cheaper alternative is to use injector cleaner you pour in the fuel tank and replace the fuel filter and engine oil afterwards.

What about replacing the T's in the heater coolant hoses? Don't know if that is really an issue, but definitely been brought up.

You'll have to let us know what they charge for the radiator. Something I've contemplated also.

I'll post that cost up once the work is done. - no problem

Will be interesting what you get done as I'm a bit over 115,000 miles now. I did have a slight power steering leak but it looked like it was barely sweating from the connections at the pipes and didn't find anything else on the next couple of oil changes. Also I did replace my radiator fan as it had cracks on it but that might have made contact with something as it was when the mileage was closer 60-70k miles.

The obvious thing as well would be to visually inspect all the rubber parts in the engine bay

That's roughly a 33" tire and should be fine - others have stuffed a 34 in the same space.

OK, yesterday, oh yesterday, everything with the Bluetooth audio was good in the 200's world... Today not so much, my phone w/Pandora and the 200's (2013) radio system say "connected" but NO music come out of the speakers... FM & AM work fine, but no sound from BT... I've disconnected & reconnected but no sound... It is like a mute button is on when the BT is "connected"... My phone's little speaker is cranking out Pandora music and goes quiet when "connected" as usual...

Just to add to the mix my wife plugged her phone into the USB port to charge it, but I have checked and my phone is the one connected to the audio system any thoughts??? Looked at the owners manual with little success...

Thanks,

Jeff

Try resetting the phone and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery terminals.

Thanks Chocolate,

Yep, I did turn my phone OFF and then ON (reset) changed and cancelled my phone as device... got the same results... did it another time or two and somehow, something caught this time and "presto magic" the miracle of Bluetooth is alive and well...

Clueless as to what cause it and clueless to what cured it... but it works and I be a happy boy now...

Mine does that if I'm playing Pandora through Bluetooth and plug my iPhone into the USB port to charge. If I open up audio on the Nav screen and switch to another source then switch it back to Bluetooth it starts playing through the vehicle again. Sounds like your wife plugging hers into the usb resulted in a similar phenomenon.

^^^ I would suspect the T's for the 200 to be just as BIG of a hidden issue as they are with the 100 series. There are several threads about folks "so glad they didn't wait any longer" type of statement, after changing them and they just crumbled in their hands.

Upon base lining my 100, they were in pretty rough condition and were not addressed by the previous detailed owner, b/c they are not considered / or mentioned as a main't item by toyota in the books. The T's are the one thing that'll stop these trucks in their tracks, dead.

i will change mine out at 100k regardless. They are in the same spot more or less as the 100's 4.7.

Finally register at Toyota Owners website after buying 2011 a few months ago...enter vin...see all service records from prior owner...all good.

Then try to enter 90k service record...did the work myself...and website says can't save vehicle details.

Any ideas? Thanks all.

Here's the question to qualify for this treat... Did you happen to see this??? FYI I think the land cruisers will be the 70 series to keep a LOW profile...

Great news: The Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux are coming to the United States. Not so great news: You'll need to enlist in the Army and pass a grueling special operations course to get behind the wheel.

The US Special Operations Command has agreed to a deal with the Battelle Memorial Institute, worth up to $170 million over five years – with the option for two more years – to take off-the-shelf Toyota Land Cruisers, Hilux pickups, and Ford Ranger pickups and fit them with armor, heavy-duty suspension components, upgraded brakes, run-flat tires, new wheels, and sophisticated communications and observation equipment.

The overall idea is to build a a truck with inconspicuous looks to protect and allow communications between troops while blending into traffic in potentially hostile countries. To be frank, it's a pretty clever way of helping SpecOps troops move about without drawing attention.

According to Military Aerospace, Battelle is going to provide "all materials, equipment, hard tooling, personnel, and facilities necessary to manufacture, fabricate, integrate, produce, and test the up-armored trucks and SUVs with Special Operations communications gear aboard." That makes it sound like a lot of the work is going to be out of the military's hands.

The contract is for 556 vehicles, over two-thirds of which Battelle would fit with armor, Military Aerospace reports. Mostly, Uncle Sam is interested in the ultra-rugged 70 Series Land Cruiser, rather than the cushier model Toyota markets to American consumers. Military Aerospace didn't have a breakdown on how many Rangers or Hilux trucks SOCOM was buying.
